What was supposed to be an ordinary morning in Greater Noida became something else entirely. A video from 1 June 2026 has been making the rounds, showing a woman in her cups in the middle of a thoroughfare in Bisrakh, cigarette in hand. It was enough to put some motorists in a huff and start a firestorm online.
A viral standstill in Bisrakh
The honking and the frustration were palpable as she made no move to budge, even when people asked her to. Police put a name and address to it: a 32-year-old from the Amrapalli River View Society in Greater Noida West.
One post in particular put it in plain terms, pointing out the cigarette and a bottle at her side. That image alone was enough to make the story travel far past the local area.
What you see in the clip
In the open, in full view, the woman is lying out on the tarmac. She even has a word with someone walking by while the cars back up behind her.
Folks are trying to get her to a better spot, but she won’t be moved. Before you know it, you’ve got a line of vehicles and not much room to get through in Bisrakh.
How the police handled it
Munendra Singh, the inspector in charge, says his team was on the scene and put an end to it. They then had her brought in for a medical.
They’re not going into specifics on the legal side of things, other than to say it was done once the report came in. They also put out a word to the community: keep the peace and remember the road isn’t a place for your personal issues.
Here is how they put it, step by step:
– We were on site in a hurry
– Brought the matter to a head
– Had the woman in at the station
– Medicals were done
– Then we took the necessary action
Why it’s being talked about
It’s drawn a mix of ire and some good-natured ribbing. You’ll see some chalking it up to ‘True gender equality’ and others having none of it for the way she was holding up the road.
But there’s a valid safety question here, too. People are wondering what it takes to get to that point in public and what kind of risk that poses to the rest of us.
For the rest of us on the road
When the hype dies down, you’re left with a hard fact: a small hold-up can paralyse a whole stretch. In a place like Greater Noida West, one problem spot is felt for blocks around.
The police are making it known they won’t put up with disorder. Make the call, don’t make a scene, and be safe.
Consequences are real
The web may be after the shock, but in person it means an ambulance is late, you miss your appointment, and everyone is on edge.
As the video and the police will tell you, it’s as simple as this: the road is for everyone. One person’s lapse can be a headache for the lot of us.
Next time you come across it
Don’t make it worse. Let the police deal with it and stay out of the way.
We live with the traffic here, so we know how it is. But as you can see, if you let the authorities in early, they can be on top of it in no time.
