Qureshi isn’t making any noise about her comeback; she is letting the work speak for itself. The new Baby Do Die Do trailer is out and the word on the street is that you have a hitwoman on your hands who holds the room without saying a word. It is a no-nonsense offering for the action-thriller crowd.
The atmosphere is what you notice first. In just over two minutes, the film puts on display a kind of menace you don’t need audio for, and a lead who is hard to pin down. There are hard stares, some unexplained mystery, and violence when you least expect it. It lets you put the pieces together.
The silent hitwoman hook
As Baby, a contract killer, Qureshi is right in the middle of ordinary India. She is dressed down, has an umbrella, the kind of face you pass on the street. Then comes the chill: she is deaf and mute, and it doesn’t stop her from being exact in her trade.
They don’t give you the why. You see the hits, not the reason for them. The character works because they keep the motive and the past under wraps. The trailer will dangle a bit of revenge in front of you and then pull it away.
A few things jump out right from the start:
– An assassin in Huma’s hands
– Some well-placed umbrella shots for cover
– A Sikh man in Rachit Singh with an eye on Baby
– A side of Chunky Panday you don’t usually get to see
– 2:27 of trailer time
– Mark your calendar for July 3, 2026
Rachit Singh and Chunky Panday turn the tables
It’s not just the star of the show. Rachit Singh is in there as a Sikh who starts to have some soft spot for Baby, and it ruffles the film’s feathers. As he gets more inquisitive, you can tell the story is going to veer off course.
And then there is Chunky. He has left the jokes behind for something else. The trailer makes it plain he is not here for the easy laughs. Put them in the mix and they are bound to put a new spin on what is a world of hushed tones and targets.
Behind the camera and on the call sheet
Nachiket Samant is the director, with Saqib Saleem producing. You have Seema Pahwa and Sikandar Kher in the cast with Qureshi. They have put a date on it – July 3, 2026 – and made it clear this is a movie for the big screen.
To whet your appetite before then, the trailer was put out there. Qureshi put it up on Instagram with a little nudge to be careful, in keeping with the film’s edge. Their way of doing things: show you a little, don’t give it all away.
What to watch for next
That is the idea. What is it with Baby? Why does she do what she does? The trailer is there for you to pick up on the small details, the looks, and find out where her line in the sand is.
All in all, Baby Do Die Do is a thriller with some class to it. If the full movie has the same hold on you as this, the halls should be full on release day.
Here is the bottom line. Huma has a part where the look is worth more than the lines. Rachit and Chunky are there to throw you a curve. And the trailer for Baby Do Die Do does its job: you’ll be on to the next view, looking for something you might have missed.
