Alia Bhatt is to present at the seventy-ninth EE BAFTA Film Awards, happening February 22nd, 2026, at the Royal Festival Hall, London. The actress announced this on Instagram, by sharing the official BAFTA announcement, and with the teasing message, ‘100 points if you can spot me.’
A line-up of famous presenters
BAFTA let people know of a large, international group of guest presenters, which shows how far around the world this year’s awards go. As well as Alia Bhatt, Cillian Murphy, Kate Hudson, and Glenn Close are among those who will present – plus many more from film and TV. Alia being a presenter comes at a time when other Indian films and people who make them are also at the awards. Lakshmipriya Devi, the director, will be there with ‘Boong’ – a film in the Manipuri language, which has been put forward for the best children’s and family film award. ‘Boong’ is about a young boy in Manipur who is planning a surprise for his mother. ‘Boong’ is made by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, of Excel Entertainment, and is up against films like ‘Lilo & Stitch’, ‘Zootopia 2’ and ‘Arco’. That it has been put forward shows that films from areas of India, and films which are not in English, are being more and more recognised by awards around the world.

Bhatt is still busy working on major films. She is at the moment filming ‘Alpha’ for Yash Raj Films, and is acting with Sharvari and Bobby Deol – it is expected to come out later in the year. That film could make her even more important in commercial film. She is also in ‘Love And War’, which is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
