Rajpal Yadav appeared in public for the first time after his release from Tihar Jail – he spoke to his supporters and the media, thanking them and saying he was prepared to deal with the continuing claims against him. The Delhi High Court had given him temporary bail, and he expressed thanks to his admirers and people in the film world for their support throughout the long legal issue.
His first comments to the public, and how people reacted on social media
A short video on X showed Rajpal Yadav with his lawyers, speaking quietly to the camera. He thanked those who had supported him, said he understood the accusations, and promised to answer any questions about the situation honestly and openly. The actor’s statement showed he was both humble and strong. He mentioned the emotional help he’d got from the country as a whole and from the film world, and requested that anyone wanting details of the legal side of things should ask his lawyer and not guess on the internet.
What the cheque bounce case was about
The problem began in 2010, when Rajpal Yadav took Rs 5 crore from a Delhi firm, Murali Projects Pvt Ltd, to pay for his film as director, Ata Pata Laapata. Because the film did not earn back the money put into it, this caused financial trouble and a long legal fight. In April 2018, a Magistrate’s Court found Rajpal and his wife guilty under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, after seven cheques he had given to the person making the claim had been rejected. A Sessions Court confirmed the finding in 2019, and the case has gone on with appeals and steps to enforce the rulings.
The court’s order, the temporary stopping of the sentence, and what was required
At the most recent hearing, the Delhi High Court temporarily stopped his six-month sentence after Rajpal had put Rs 1.5 crore into the court. This temporary help lasts until the next hearing – on March 18 – and lets him have short-term freedom while the legal process goes on. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma allowed the stopping of the sentence after it was confirmed that the complainant had been paid. The court told him to give up his passport and did not allow him to leave India without the court’s permission first. He must be at the next hearing, either in person or online.
Support from admirers and people in the film world
Outside the jail, Rajpal showed a lot of thanks for the help he had received from fans of all ages. He pointed to his long career, saying he would reach 30 years in the film industry in 2027, and said that the love of the public had allowed him to make hundreds of films. Colleagues and supporters commented on social media, praising his humility and how he was focused on his work. The actor has used his position to reassure people that he plans to go on working and to fully work with the legal authorities.
What is going to happen to Rajpal Yadav and his work
Although his release marks an important part of a ten-year legal struggle, the case is not finished. The court’s temporary order gives short-term help but keeps legal duties in place until the next hearing, and Rajpal will probably still be watched by the law. He has shown he wants to return to work and be there for his fans. For specific legal questions, he told people to ask his lawyer, and he repeated that he was willing to answer any claims. The next few weeks will decide what happens in the next stage of his legal fight and his work life.
#RajpalYadav#salmankhan – After being released on bail, Rajpal Yadav openly thanked Salman Khan and said that people like “Salman Bhai” are very rare in the Bollywood industry. ❤️
This clearly shows that when Rajpal Yadav was facing a penalty of around ₹5 crore, Salman stepped… pic.twitter.com/SRl5uU9wXH
