Nothing has released the Phone 3a Lite in India specifically for people who like the way Nothing phones look and their simple software, but don’t want to spend too much. You get the usual Nothing style, a really good screen, and a good 5G processor, all at a price that’s easy to afford.
Price in India and availability
You can get it with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for Rs 20,999, or 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for Rs 22,999. For a limited time, with offers from some banks, you can get it for Rs 19,999 or Rs 21,999.
The Nothing Phone 3a Lite is on sale starting December 5th, from Flipkart, Vijay Sales, Croma, and most major stores. You can choose between Black, Blue, and White.
Positioning in the lineup
The 3a Lite fits into the Phone 3 range – it’s below the Phone (3), Phone 3a Pro, and Phone 3a. Its main purpose is to be the most affordable way to experience the Nothing brand and all the things that go with it, and importantly, it doesn’t remove important features you need every day.
Design and build
The see-through back, simple lines, and fun details immediately show you it’s a Nothing phone. Nothing has made the lights simpler, using just one Glyph light in the bottom right corner, instead of many sections.
Even though it’s not expensive, the 3a Lite still feels good to hold. Both the front and back are covered with Panda Glass and the edges are a nice, flat shape. It’s 8.3 mm thick and weighs 199 g, so it’s solid but easy to use. It has an IP54 rating, meaning it can handle a little water and dust.
The Glyph light is still useful in this simpler form, letting you flip the phone for silent notifications, showing you when the camera is counting down, and giving you a special light for each person who calls you. Even small things, like the black buttons on the white phone, keep the look of Nothing consistent.
Display
Nothing hasn’ andt cut corners on the screen. The Phone 3a Lite has a 6.77-inch flexible AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and displays 10-bit color. It’s the same quality as the screens on the more expensive Phone 3 phones and this is unusual for this price.
At its brightest, the screen can show 3000 nits, and outside, it’s at 1300 nits. The thin borders around the screen also make it look more expensive. It also uses 2160 Hz PWM dimming to be easier on your eyes. Movement on the screen is smooth and colors look bright without being unrealistic.
You can see the screen easily in bright sunlight. It doesn’t use LTPO (so the screen can’t slow down to 1 Hz to save power), but overall the screen is one of the best things about this price range.
Performance and thermals
The Phone 3a Lite is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro 5G processor which is made using 4 nm technology. It comes with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage, and you can add a microSD card for up to 2TB more. Nothing also lets you use some of your storage as virtual RAM.
It’s designed to work steadily. Normal things like using social media apps, scrolling through pages, sending messages and watching videos all work smoothly. Animations on the screen are consistent and doing multiple things at once isn’t a problem.
It’s pretty good for gaming at this price. BGMI and COD Mobile both run well, and the phone doesn’t get too hot. More demanding games like Genshin Impact can be played, but you’ll have to lower the settings. If you want the highest frame rates, you’ll need to buy a more expensive processor.
Software and updates
One thing they have simplified to keep the price down is the sound. There’s only one speaker at the bottom of the phone. It’s loud and clear for normal use, but a stereo sound system would have been better for streaming and gaming. The phone comes with Nothing OS 3.5, which is based on Android 15, and the system is clean, simple, and well-considered, focusing on helpful functions rather than lots of changes to how Android looks. Important parts of the software are Smart Drawer, Private Space, App Locker, and Power Off Verify. A new Essential Key opens Essential Space, a place for notes, recordings, pictures, and quick snaps, and it uses AI to write down what’s said in recordings on the phone itself and to search within Essential Space even without an internet connection.
Nothing says the phone will get Android updates for three years and security updates for six. They’ve also said that Nothing OS 4.0 is coming in early 2026 and will include Lock Glimpse (showing information on the locked screen).
In most countries, the phone will have Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok already on it, but in India it won’t have TikTok. You can delete these apps if you want to.
Cameras
On the back, the cameras are a 50MP main camera with an f/1.88 aperture and optical/electronic image stabilization (OIS/EIS), an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro camera. The front camera is 16MP for selfies. Nothing’s TrueLens Engine 4.0 does the image processing, using Ultra XDR, Auto Tone, Portrait Optimiser, and Motion Capture. You can record video up to 4K at 30 frames per second, or 1080p at 120 frames per second for slow-motion.
When there’s plenty of light, the 50MP main camera takes bright, clear photos with a good range of darks and lights. Portraits have pretty good accuracy around the edges and a nice blurry background. In low light, Night Mode helps bring back details and color, but the picture might take a little longer to snap.
The ultra-wide and macro cameras work okay in good light. The main camera is the best one and will be good enough for most of your pictures. Video is good for a phone in this price range and the EIS makes small movements less shaky.
Battery and charging
The phone uses a 5000 mAh battery and has 33W fast charging with a cable, and 5W charging from the phone to something else with a cable. Nothing says it should last for up to 22 hours of YouTube or about 9.5 hours of gaming, but that depends on what you’re doing.
You will easily get through a full day with it, and even have some power left. It doesn’t charge incredibly quickly from empty to full, but it does so in a way you can count on, and a quick charge will get you going without any worry.
Connectivity and extras
It has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, QZSS, USB-C, and a fingerprint reader under the screen. It can use two 5G connections, and VoLTE and VoWiFi if your phone service supports them. Both sides of the phone are covered with Panda Glass, and it has Nothing’s usual see-through look.
Nothing Phone 3a Lite vs the rest
Of all Nothing phones, the 3a Lite is the cheapest way to get into the Nothing brand. It still has the good screen, the transparent design, and the simple Nothing OS, but has a few fewer advanced features. People deciding between it and the standard Phone 3a or phones from CMF should think about how important the camera is, what they like in terms of sound, and any deals available. The 3a Lite is better for how it looks, the screen quality, how polished the software is, and that you can add a microSD card.
Key features at a glance

You can get it with 128GB or 256GB of storage, and you can add up to 2TB with a microSD card. The cameras are 50MP with OIS on the main camera, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and 16MP on the front. It records 4K video at 30fps, uses EIS, and has TrueLens Engine 4.0. It comes with Nothing OS 3.5 on Android 15, 3 operating system updates, and 6 years of security updates. It has a 5000 mAh battery, 33W fast charging, and 5W reverse charging. It has a single Glyph light, is IP54 rated, has Panda Glass, weighs 199g, is 8.3mm thick, has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Early verdict
The Nothing Phone 3a Lite is a good starting point for getting into the Nothing range of phones. It doesn’t try to have the very best specs, but it does get the important things right: a really good 120 Hz AMOLED screen, performance you can rely on, software that will be updated for a long time, and Nothing’s unique design.
If you want all of those things at a reasonable price, the 3a Lite is a good option.
