Realme has said the Realme 16 5G will be out in India very shortly, and they’ve given us a look at what they’re calling the country’s first “Selfie Mirror Phone.” The phone has a 7000mAh battery and a 50MP main camera and Realme has already shown us what it looks like and when it will be available.
Design and the Selfie Mirror feature
Realme is showing off a thin, light “air” design that should feel expensive to hold. The back has a horizontal strip of glass for the cameras, a rounded rectangle going across the top of the phone’s back. It’s available in White Swan and Black Cloud colours.
The special thing is the selfie mirror in the rear camera area. This little shiny circle lets you see what the rear cameras “see”, so you can use the better main camera for selfies. Realme is aiming this at people who take a lot of selfies and want pictures that look good on social media right away.
Display, refresh rate, and software
The Realme t6 5G will probably have a 6.57-inch AMOLED screen with FHD+ quality and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth motion. It’s also said to have DT Star D+ glass to protect the screen and be very bright, so you can see it when you’re outside.
The phone will likely come with Android 16 and Realme UI 7.0 on top of it. This combination should give you up-to-date software and updates, and the bright AMOLED screen with a fast refresh rate will be good for gaming and scrolling through things without blur.

Inside, Realme are reportedly using the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo processor. This processor is designed to be efficient and work well with apps, social media, and not-too-demanding games.
You’ll be able to get it with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Realme will likely sell it as a good value option, with enough power to do a lot of things at once and store plenty of photos and videos.
Battery life, charging, and durability
The most important feature of the hardware is the 7000mAh battery, which is one of the biggest batteries you’ll find in a normal phone. Realme will also include 60W fast wired charging and the ability to charge other devices with a wire, meaning it should last a long time and you can share power with friends.
For keeping it cool and making it last, it has a large 6050 square millimeter vapor chamber and is meant to be very resistant to dust and water (IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings). These features will make it more reliable for everyday use and when you’re travelling.
Camera system and imaging features
The rear cameras should include a 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera and a 2MP monochrome camera. Realme are also adding LumaColor processing and an AI Edit Genie set of tools to improve picture detail and how you edit pictures after you take them.
Although there’s a 50MP camera for normal selfies, the selfie mirror lets you use the higher-quality rear camera for self-portraits. This should give you sharper, better lit, and more social-media-ready photos than you’d get from the typical front camera.
Price, availability, and market positioning
Realme have said it will be on sale in India through Flipkart, but they haven’t told us the exact release date or the price in India yet. In Vietnam, the 8GB+256GB version cost VND 11,490,000 and the 12GB+256GB version cost VND 12,490,000 (about 40,000 to 44,000 Rupees).
The Realme t6 5G is for people who want a long battery life, a good camera that does new things, and a phone that isn’re too big. It might be popular with younger people and those who want their phone to last a long time on a single charge, rather than having the most powerful “flagship” phone. Realme will probably make the price very competitive in the mid-range.
