Think of it as a no-holds-barred return from Samay. The second season of India’s Got Latent is out today, and for the first time you can see it on both Netflix and YouTube at 7 PM IST. We’re talking star power: Alia and Sharvari are on the panel for the very first episode.
Starry premiere and big-screen crossover
The rumors were true. A set photo that made the rounds online had everyone talking, but now Raina has put it to rest: the Alpha stars, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, will be your guests for the opener, along with Ashish Solanki. You’ll also have Balraj Singh Ghai in the room to round out the panel. They couldn’t be more in sync. The two are in the middle of a hard push for their actioner Alpha, coming out July 3. That kind of cross-promotion is sure to make some noise when the episode goes live.
Where and when to watch
Today, June 20, 2026, is the day. The Season 2 kickoff is available to stream on both services at once. Raina has been about upping the ante but not straying from the show’s roots. He’s made it clear to his fans that the unapologetic nature of the roasts isn’t going anywhere, even if the production is getting a bit of an upgrade.
Fans get the simulcast they asked for
People have been wondering for a while if the show would be on one platform or another. On the 19th, Raina let us in on the plan: the premiere is happening on Netflix India and YouTube, side by side. It’s a way to cast a wider net and still hold on to the crowd that made Season 1 a hit. It’s also a fresh start after some time off. You have your digital natives who like a free, easy watch and the ones who want the premium app feel. This caters to both.
What viewers can expect tonight
A quick heads-up before you press play at 7: – Alia Bhatt and Sharvari on the couch – Live on Netflix and YouTube – Samay Raina at the helm again – The kind of comedy that is part chaos, all roast
Why this season feels bigger
Last time around, we had a ragtag idea become a must-watch by putting some top-tier names in front of our comics. Now we are scaling up, but don’t expect any of the edge to be sanded down. Raina’s aim is to give you the same kind of laugh with a better-looking product. Then there’s the Alpha tie-in. Having Alia and Sharvari head up the film’s promo and the panel gives the night a certain momentum of its own.
How Season 1 ended and what changed
We put out 12 episodes starting in June 2024. But come February 2025, things got heated over a clip of Ranveer Allahbadia asking a contestant something that didn’t sit well with people. There were FIRs, the National Commission for Women had to step in, and the Supreme Court eventually gave him some cover while calling the comments what they were. So on Feb 12, 2025, Raina pulled the episodes. Too much of a headache. In his stand-up special Still Alive this April, he was in a lighter mood about the whole thing: ‘Season 1 couldn’t have ended on a higher note’. He has since said the line in question was put in eight times; we only left one in. For Season 2, we’ve taken that on board and know where the lines are.
The stakes for the comeback
You have to do two things with this one: show you still have the bite and that you can put on a show for a larger audience. With the 7 PM drop and having it on Netflix and YouTube from day one, Raina is counting on you to be there, to share it, and to be talking about it.
