Vicky Kaushal Praises Katrina Kaif as a ‘Warrior’ Through Pregnancy and Parenthood

Vicky Kaushal really looks up to Katrina Kaif; he's called her a 'warrior' in relation to her pregnancy and being a new mother. The pair had their son, Vihaan, in November, and Vicky has been talking about what family life is like, how he's helping out, and how to manage work and raising a child.

Vicky Kaushal hasn’t been shy about how much he thinks of his wife, Katrina Kaif, since Vihaan was born in November. At a recent event in Mumbai, he said Katrina was a ‘warrior’ because of how she got through being pregnant and becoming a mum – and playfully said his job was more like being a fan cheering her on.

Katrina Kaif as a ‘warrior’

Vicky was very open when he talked about Katrina’s strength. He stated that she’s been a ‘superhero’ throughout her pregnancy and is still a warrior now she’s a mother. His words showed how very proud and fond of her he is, and he said he was completely filled with love for her.

Vicky also added that Katrina had got through the whole thing with calm and determination, and he showed how she had faced up to all the physical and emotional things she needed to do. His praise gave the idea of a partnership where one parent backs the other and the other takes the lead in caring for the baby in the first few months.

The first few weeks with baby Vihaan and family life

The couple told people their son had arrived on Instagram with a lovely message. It said, ‘Our little joy has come. With a lot of love and thankfulness, we’re welcoming our baby boy. 7th November 2025.’ The message was a happy time for the family.

Friends and actors also in the business sent warm wishes after the message. The couple then announced their son’s name was Vihaan Kaushal on January 7th. Vicky said being a dad meant you didn’t get much sleep, but also a huge feeling of thankfulness and amazement.

Being a parent and the day to day

Vicky has said being a father is a constant flow of new feelings. He said, ‘Each day, a new feeling comes’, and called the whole thing settling. At the moment, he doesn’t feel there’s much he can do at three months, so he’s concentrating on helping Katrina and getting to know Vihaan.

He also talked honestly about letting go and accepting the new timetable. Vicky said this letting go felt known yet not like anything he’d known before. He is looking forward to the time when he can help more with daily care and share the jobs more equally.

Breaks from work and future projects

Katrina is taking time off acting while she gets used to being a mum, as her last film was in 2024. The actress is on a planned break as the couple enjoys family life and gets into their new ways of doing things at home.

Vicky is going back to work after a successful year at the box office. His 2025 film, Chhaava, did really well, taking Rs 807 crore around the world. He will next be in Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

Managing family and work in the future

Both actors are up against the usual problem of managing important jobs and family jobs. Vicky’s public words show he wants to be an active and helpful partner, while respecting Katrina’s leading role in the early days of being parents.

The pair’s tone has been one of thankfulness and respect for each other. As they go through sleepless nights and happy events, they continue to put their child and each other first while making plans for the next stages of their jobs and family life.
