Golmaal 5 Begins Filming: Akshay Kumar Joins, Sharman Joshi Returns

Filming has started on Golmaal 5, which brings back the very popular comedy series. Akshay Kumar is now in the cast - he'll make things different - and Sharman Joshi is back as Laxman. Director Rohit Shetty says the movie will have both what people liked before and new, wild comedy, and people who like the series are really looking forward to it coming out.

Filming Starts, First Look

To show filming was starting, Rohit Shetty put a special video from the set on his social media, on his birthday. The video has the usual energy of the series; the main actors are all together, remembering things and laughing, as they say Golmaal 5 is now in production. The short video mixes memories with good timing in comedy to give an idea of what to expect.

The video from behind the scenes begins with the series’ well-known bike that seats many people, then goes to a fun get-together. Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, and Tusshar Kapoor are all in it, saying lines to each other and joking around. As the group hints at a surprise, the video quickly goes to two unexpected people joining, which at once changes what everyone is talking about.

Akshay Kumar in the Cast

The biggest surprise was Akshay Kumar arriving on the set, in all black, and with a bald cap and short beard. He’s dressed as a sort of religious mystic, gives Ajay Devgn a playful kiss in the video, and then starts singing the Golmaal song with a lot of energy. He being there means a new kind of comedy for the series.

Akshay also put the moment on his social media, wishing Rohit a happy birthday and calling the shoot ‘madness’ – but in a good way. His arrival made Ajay say the series’ line, ‘no one leaves a franchise,’ showing how Golmaal has become a long-lasting, fun part of Hindi-language comedy.

Sharman Joshi Returns as Laxman

Another good moment was Sharman Joshi showing up on set, playing Laxman – the role fans remember. Sharman was in the first movie, from 2006, but hadn’t been in some of the later films in the series. His surprising return in the preview got real reactions from the actors and quickly became the most important thing to people who had been fans for a long time.

In the video, Sharman says a funny line that refers to something in the past, and is then gently taken away by his co-stars – a reference to his leaving before, and now coming back. Bringing Laxman back shows the filmmakers want to honor the original chemistry, while making the comedy even better with new people.

The Series and What Fans Want

The Golmaal series began in 2006 and became a very successful comedy series, with films coming out in 2008, 2010, and 2017. The series made a name for itself with very fast slapstick, strange groups of actors, and regular supporting actors who made each film funnier. Now, fans want to see both things they liked before and new, wild comedy.

With almost all of the original actors back together, and the addition of well-known talent, people expect Golmaal 5 to be the biggest film in the series yet. So far, the people making the film and the director haven’t told anyone what the story will be or when it will come out – they’re keeping the mystery as part of how they’re selling the film.

What’s Next for Golmaal 5

Filming has only just begun, so who is in the cast, what happens in the story, and how long it will take will come out little by little as filming goes on. People watching should look at the director’s and main actors’ accounts on social media for more looks at what’s happening behind the scenes, and official news. The previews already promise surprises, funny scenes, and the return of the main part of what the series is.

For now, Golmaal 5 claims to be a high-profile get-together of people who have worked well together before, with new stars. People who grew up with the first films will probably watch for memories, and new people can expect the full-speed comedy that made the series a lasting part of Indian comedy films.
