R Madhavan Alerts Fans to Fake Social Media Account Impersonating Him

R Madhavan has warned his fans about a fake social media account pretending to be him. He put out a public message - and a picture of the fake account - to help people tell it from the real thing. He is taking legal action, and wants his followers to report the account. Madhavan also gave news about his next movie, Dhurandhar 2.

Madhavan told fans directly that this was a FRAUD ALERT and the person running the account doesn’t speak for him at all. He made it clear that he doesn’t use any other Instagram – or other social media – account. He said the right things were being done to make the person who did it answer for what they’d done.

Madhavan included a picture of the fake profile with his warning, so people could recognise it. He gave the account’s name in his post, and also alerted the social media company, to get their attention. The actor was very clear that the profile was completely fake and had nothing to do with him or his people.

Steps are being taken to find and deal with the person who is pretending to be him.

Although he didn’t give details of the legal side of things, the statement shows that Madhavan and those who work for him are using the proper methods. Followers were asked to report the profile to the social media company to help with this.

To avoid being fooled, check accounts before you do anything with them. Where possible, look for the ‘verified’ tick, check when the account was created, and see if the posts match the famous person’s official accounts. Don’t give out personal or bank details in direct messages, and always check news through official posts or the accounts that are officially managed.

If you come across an account which seems to be Madhavan but isn’t, report it right away using the social media company’s tools. Block the account, and don’t click on links or open files from unknown sources. Keep screenshots and any direct messages, in case they’re needed for an investigation or legal case.

Madhavan is going to play IB director Ajay Sanyal again in Dhurandhar 2, which is the next film in the series, and will be directed by Aditya Dhar. The film is coming to cinemas everywhere on March 19, 2026 – with previews from March 18. The series’ success makes the public more interested – and so increases the chance of someone pretending to be him.

Recently, Madhavan told a funny story from the set.

He said that the weather had unexpectedly changed an opening scene. Aditya Dhar had wanted bright, clear skies to make the tension inside a plane stand out, but it rained instead. The actor joked that the crew had called him ‘Rainman’ as the grey skies had in the end made the scene’s atmosphere even better.

Fans and followers should be careful, as well-known people often attract people who pretend to be them to take advantage of the trust people have. Madhavan’s warning reminds us to always check who people are online, report anything which seems wrong, and only trust official sources for true information.
