March 2026 Theatrical Releases: Dhurandhar 2, Toxic, and More Films to Watch

March 2026 looks to be a really full, and good, month in cinemas, with important films coming out around Holi and Eid. The month has a lot of different kinds of movies - big sequels, films set in the past with famous actors, films made in regional languages, and smaller, more personal stories - and a lot of the companies making the films are sure people will go to see them during the holidays, and that the films will do well in the box office for a long time.

Expect two or three big fights for viewers in March; two very important films will come out in the middle of the month. Holi and Eid should make more people buy tickets, and help the biggest films stay in cinemas for longer. Films that come out early in the week will attempt to get people to talk about them, before the busy holiday weekends.

Films that aren’t as big, and are scheduled for the first half of March, are trying to get viewers who like a specific type of film. Critics and local communities will probably support good films, and cinemas with lots of screens will show both the blockbusters and films in regional languages. All in all, the films coming to cinemas in March 2026 seem to be different from each other, and planned to come out at good times.

March 2026: a packed month for theatres

Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic

Two of the films people are looking forward to the most – Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-ups – will be in cinemas on March 19. Both films have well-known actors and a lot of money being spent on advertising them, so that week will be the main thing for people who usually go to see mainstream films. There will be a lot of advertising and the films will be shown in a lot of cinemas.

Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic: the March 19 clash

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is the sequel to a very successful film from 2025, and has Ranveer Singh as the main actor, with R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal also in it. The sequel is about Singh trying to get revenge, and a strange enemy called Bade Sahab. It hopes to be in cinemas for two or three months.

Toxic is Yash’s return to making films after four years, and has actors from all over India, including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria and Akshay Oberoi. Set in Goa in the past, this gangster film set in the past should appeal to a lot of people. The fact that it comes out at the same time as Dhurandhar 2 makes for a classic fight for viewers during the holidays.

Early March and small but notable releases

March 6 will have Charak: Fair of Faith, a thriller with Anjali Patil and Subrat Dutta, set during a traditional festival. The film looks at rituals, what people believe, and how much people can take, and might get people who go to film festivals and want to see films that tell stories in a particular way. That day will also have Na Jaane Kaun Aa Gaya, a love triangle directed by Vikas Arora.

Kissa Court Kachahari Ka will come out on March 13 with Brijendra Kala and Rajesh Sharma in a film set in a courtroom that looks at truth, what people want, and what is at risk for people. These smaller films can get a good amount of business during the week, and get better through good reviews and people talking about them.

Late March and regional fare

March 19 will also have the third film in a popular Malayalam series, with Jayasurya and the people he has worked with before. People who like films made in regional languages will probably add that to the films they want to see, and increase the amount of money that films from different parts of India make at the box office. Different films made in regional languages make the number of films in cinemas more varied.

Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which comes out on March 26, has Pawan Kalyan in a remake of a successful Tamil film, with Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna supporting him. Taxila, a Tamil-language film with Sathish Rama Krishnan about the end of the world, will come out on March 27. These films that come out late in the month might get the benefit of people still going to cinemas after the holidays, and advertising aimed at people in certain regions.

Box office outlook and how to plan your theater visits

Because there are so many important films coming out in a single week, March 2026 might make a lot of money in total at the box office. Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic are likely to be the most popular films in cinemas in cities, while films in regional languages and independent films will try to get people who like a specific type of film. We can expect the two big films to be in cinemas for at least two or three months, if they are as good as people expect.

To get the best experience when you go to see a film, book tickets early for the most important shows during the holiday weekends. Think about going to see the smaller films during the afternoon on weekdays, so you don’t have to go to shows that are already sold out. Whether you like films with famous actors, or smaller, interesting films, March 2026 looks to be a good month for people who go to the cinema.
