The company is putting its money where its mouth is when it comes to battery and content creation. The N6 is being positioned as a no-nonsense phone for those who want performance without the premium cost.
Big battery and faster charging for the heavy lifters
You can’t go wrong with the N6 if you are after endurance. OnePlus has put in an 8000 mAh cell and 45W wired charging. It’s the same size as what you see in the pricier Nord CE 6, which is something for a phone in this tier.
They are also touting a 5,300 sq mm vapor chamber to keep things cool when you are in the middle of a long gaming or video session. By their count, it is the biggest in the sub-INR 20,000 class, and they mean for you to have steady performance, not just a quick hit of speed.

How it looks and feels
For all your streaming and scrolling, the N6 has a 6.7-inch flat screen with a 120Hz rate and 1,200 nits of peak brightness. It is an AMOLED, so you should be looking at better contrast and more vivid colours.
From the official photos, it is a tidy, modern package: a flat frame, a boxy camera hump on the back, and the OnePlus logo right in the middle. It doesn’t try too hard to be noticed.
Cameras and the like
When it comes to the lens, the N6 is about the basics. A 50-megapixel primary sensor leads the dual rear setup; we don’t know much about the other one yet. Up front is an 8-megapixel shooter in a hole-punch.
There is some utility in the video side of things, too. You can record at 60fps and make use of Dual View Video to film from both the front and back. Vloggers will find that a handy way to tell a story while you are out and about.

Rumours on the chip and why you should care
We haven’t been told what is under the hood, but word on the street is it could be a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 with 6GB of RAM and an ARM Mali-G57 MC2. Some even say it will ship with Android 16. Don’t put any stock in it until it is made official.
What we do know is that thermal management is a priority. That vapor chamber is there to let you push the device for a while without it bogging down, a common issue with some of the cheaper options out there.
Colours and when you can get it
Come the 30th, you can have the N6 in either Fresh Mint or Midnight Green. More on the numbers and where to buy will come at the event in India.
In the meantime, here is what is on the table:
– 8000 mAh with 45W fast charge
– 6.7-inch 120Hz flat AMOLED (1,200 nits)
– 50MP main in a dual rear system
– 8MP front in a centred cutout
Is the N6 worth your time?
Put it in the sub-INR 20,000 camp and the N6 might change how you view what you can get for your money. Between the big battery, the smooth display and the video features, it is meant to feel a bit more upmarket than it is.
If you value a good screen and a battery that lasts over having the fastest chip, the signs are good. Now we just have to see on the price and storage.
June 30th: what to look for
The big day should give us a straight answer on the cost, the second camera, and software support. If the leaks are right, we will also have a better idea of how it will hold up down the line.
For now, the N6 seems to be about the day-to-day: a brighter screen, less time at the charger and an easier way to put together some content. It is a sensible approach, and it may well be what people are looking for when the event starts.
