Vivo X300 Ultra Debuts with Dual 200MP Cameras and Zeiss Optics, India Launch Expected Soon

Vivo has released the X300 Ultra in China, and its dual 200MP cameras with Zeiss lenses make it particularly good at taking pictures on a phone. It's predicted to be available in India by May, and will offer really good image quality with teleconverters you can add on, and a lot of power.

The X300 Ultra from Vivo is already looking like one of the most ambitious phones of the year for photography. The main feature is the two 200MP sensors and Zeiss optics, and Vivo is using powerful hardware in a way that most other phones don’t. It is expected to be released in India around May.

A camera-first flagship with dual 200MP sensors

The Vivo X300 Ultra is the first phone with two 200MP cameras. The main camera is a 200MP Sony LYTIA 901 which is built to grab more light and decrease reflections inside the lens for clearer photos and more consistent exposure throughout the picture.

A 200MP Samsung HP0 telephoto camera with a gimbal-like stabilizer is the second camera. It’s pretty unusual to have that kind of stabilization on a periscope zoom, and it should make a big difference for taking pictures with your hands at longer zoom levels. You can expect a more stable shot, finer details, and less graininess in low light.

A 50MP ultra-wide camera, using the Sony LYTIA 818 sensor and optical image stabilization, rounds out the three cameras. The aim is to have the same quality across all zoom options. Vivo is making sure the color, contrast, and level of detail are similar from the widest angle all the way to the furthest zoom, instead of treating zoom as an afterthought.

Pro-grade zoom with Zeiss teleconverters

Vivo is also letting you add things on to the phone. Two optional Zeiss teleconverters (lenses you attach) will extend how far the camera can zoom, well beyond what most phones do. The Zeiss G2 Teleconverter provides a 200mm equivalent focal length with approximately 8.7 times optical zoom.

And for people who want to zoom in even MORE, the Zeiss G2 Ultra Teleconverter reaches 400mm with a complicated 15-piece lens structure. These accessories mean you’ll sacrifice some how easily it fits in your pocket for more control and the ability to take pictures of sports, performances, and animals in the wild without only using digital zoom.

Vivo will also sell collections of accessories, including a video kit designed with SmallRig. Though they are optional, these tools make the X300 Ultra more like a half-professional camera setup and can be used with small cameras when traveling or working in the field.

Display, performance, and cooling for power users

The X300 Ultra has a 6.82 inch 2K LTPO AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. It works with HDR10+ and uses 2160Hz PWM dimming for smooth pictures and less strain on your eyes. It’s a large, bright display for playing games, doing photo editing, and watching videos.

Inside, the phone has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 15, and up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It comes with Android 16 with Origin OS 6 on top, promising lots of ways to change how it works and camera software.

Vivo uses an Ice Pulse Fluid VC cooling system to keep the phone running well. The company says it gets rid of heat 14% better than before, with a vapor chamber that is 22% bigger. This should mean more consistent frame rates during long games or when recording 4K video.

Battery, charging, and durability credentials

The X300 Ultra is powered by a 6600 mAh battery and supports 90W fast wired charging and 40W wireless charging. You can also charge other devices wirelessly using the phone, which is useful for giving your earbuds or smartwatch a little power while you’re out.

It’s also very durable. The phone is both IP68 and IP69 rated against dust and water, which isn’t common for smartphones. This should give people who spend a lot of time outdoors or who travel often a lot more confidence.

Pricing, variants, and colors

In China, the Vivo X300 Ultra costs 6,999 yuan (around Rs 95,021) for the 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage model. The most expensive version, with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage that can connect to satellites, is 11,999 yuan (about Rs 1,62,858). You can order it now, and it will be in stores on April 3rd.

You can get it in Film Green, Silver Tone, and Black. The look is simple with straight edges and a camera on the back that’s noticeable but doesn’t take over the whole thing. The Zeiss name is there, but not too prominently, showing that they worked together without being the main point.

India launch outlook and the X300s companion model

Vivo plans to sell the X300 Ultra in many countries and India is a priority. It’s expected to be available in India around May, and possibly with the Vivo X300 FE at the same time. Because it’s so focused on the camera, the price in India will probably be similar to other top-of-the-line phones with great cameras.

The X300 Ultra was released with the X300s, which is a more standard high-end phone. It has a 6.78-inch flat AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate (so things move smoothly), and can get up to 4,500 nits bright. It’s brightly visible even in sunlight with a constant 2,000 nits of brightness.

The X300s uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It comes with Android 16 and OriginOS 6 and continues to use Zeiss for the color accuracy and quality of the lenses.

The X300s’s cameras include a 200MP Samsung HPBr main sensor with stabilization and a CIPA 4.5 rating, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP Sony LYTIA 602 periscope telephoto with stabilization and Zeiss APO certification. The front camera is 50MP for selfies and video calls.

Just like the Ultra, the X300s works with the Zeiss G2 teleconverter to zoom in much further optically and can even record portrait videos at 200mm. This gives video creators flexibility to use subtle lenses without needing lots of extra equipment.

The X300s has a 7100 mAh battery that can be charged at 90W with a cable, 40W wirelessly, and it can wirelessly charge other devices. It starts at 4,999 yuan (roughly Rs 67,894) for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and goes up to 6,999 yuan (around Rs t 95,022) for 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It goes on sale in China on April 3rd.

What it means for Indian buyers

If taking pictures on your phone is the most important thing to you, the Vivo X300 Ultra looks like it’s going to be the new best, especially for zooming in from far away and holding the phone steady. The extra teleconverters and video accessories take it into areas that most typical top-end phones don’t go.

If you want something with a good all-around performance and not a lot of extras, the X300s is interesting. It combines a high-resolution main camera with a good zoom and a battery that will easily last all day. Both of these phones will be up against the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

In India, the important thing is that you’ll have options. Vivo is offering the X300 Ultra as a phone with no compromises when it comes to the camera, and the X300s as a more reasonable top-end choice. If they do launch in May as expected, it’ll be a great time for anyone looking for the best phone camera system in 2026.
