BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro Launches in India at Rs 74.50 Lakh

BMW India has released the X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro - it costs 74.50 lakh rupees. The version that's been made to have better performance comes with a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine, suspension that changes to the road, and new, high-level technology. This improves the range of mid-size, upmarket SUVs from BMW; it goes up against cars such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC and Audi Q5.

BMW India has released the BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro – a quicker, petrol version of the X3 – at a price of Rs 74.50 lakh, ex-showroom. It becomes the third model in the X3 range, alongside the xDrive20 petrol and xDrive20d diesel, and is built at BMW Group Plant Chennai.

Price and when you can get one in India

You can now order the X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro at all BMW dealers in the country, and the first cars will be delivered shortly. The Rs 74.50 lakh price doesn’t include road tax, insurance, and registration, so the final cost will be higher depending where you live. Adding this model gives BMW more choices in the mid-size luxury SUV class, and lets it compete better with the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Lexus NX, and Volvo XC60. The M Sport Pro is for people wanting a more powerful, and visually sportier, vehicle in this class.

Engine and how it performs

The X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro has a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo petrol engine which makes 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque, from 1,600 to 4,600 rpm. BMW keeps the eight-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox, and its xDrive four-wheel-drive system. The SUV also has a 48V mild-hybrid system to improve how quickly it reacts to the accelerator and its fuel economy. Early tests show 0-100 km/h in around 6.11 seconds; BMW says 6.3 seconds – which is faster than the usual X3 20 xDrive, and similar to the GLC 300. It’s fitted with adaptive suspension, which uses electronically controlled dampers, so drivers can easily switch between a comfortable and a more sporty ride. ‘Sport Boost’ and ‘Sport Plus’ modes make the accelerator and dampers more responsive for a more exciting drive.

Changes to the outside and design

The M Sport Pro looks different because of its dark, sporty style. Chrome is replaced with shiny black trim, and the BMW kidney grille is completely black with ‘Iconic Glow’ lighting. Other details are darkened headlights, darkened tail-lights, M badges, and an M Aerodynamic pack to give it a more aggressive look. It also has 20-inch M alloy wheels as standard, red M Sport brake calipers, flush door handles, high-gloss black roof rails, and a black rear diffuser to make it clear what this version is about. A new Brooklyn Grey Metallic colour is among the paint choices, and improves how it looks.

What’s inside, and the tech it has

Inside, the X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro has better materials – Veganza leatherette on the dashboard and door panels – which feel more upmarket than the recycled polyester in the cheaper versions. M-specific details are M logos projected from the door lights, M stripes on the seatbelts, and metal sill plates. The interior is built around BMW’s Curved Display: a 12.3-inch instrument screen and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen, using BMW Operating System 9 and QuickSelect. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Digital Key Plus, and BMW ConnectedDrive services. It’s well-equipped for comfort and convenience: ventilated, powered sports seats, a panoramic glass roof, a 15-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a head-up display, three-zone climate control, rear sunblinds, and an electric tailgate are all included.

Safety features and driver aids

It comes with eight airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, Cornering Brake Control, and Hill Descent Control for safety. The X3 also has Driving Assistant Plus with Active Cruise Control (Stop & Go), Lane Departure Warning, and Lane Keep Assist as standard. Parking Assistant Plus includes all-round cameras, a Reversing Assistant, and a Drive Recorder to make parking and low-speed driving safer and easier. These, with the adaptive dampers and the strong chassis electronics, mean the X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro is both fun to drive and gives you confidence. In all, the BMW X3 30 xDrive M Sport Pro offers a more powerful engine, a more striking look, and better materials, which justify its Rs 74.50 lakh price. Buyers who want a sportier mid-size luxury SUV can now think about this, as well as the usual models in the class, and book a test drive at BMW dealers all over India.
