Renault Duster 2026 Launch: Price, Features, and Powertrain Options

The 2026 Renault Duster will be out on March 17, and Renault India will at that time give the prices for the improved mid-size SUV. Right now, people can pre-order one - either online or at a dealership - and people who do can expect to get their cars in April. The Duster is meant to give a good mix of being able to go off-road and having up-to-date tech, all for people who want a good deal.

Renault India has said prices will be announced on March 17, 2026, and cars will be delivered in April. You can pre-order by getting an R Pass for Rs 21,000; this gets you delivery first, and a special price when the car first comes out. Cars with the hybrid engine should be delivered around Diwali in 2026. People who study the car market and other sources think the least expensive Duster will cost between Rs 9.5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Better versions, and the hybrid, could raise the price to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), so it is still good value in the midsize SUV class.

Renault is offering three different engines to appeal to many customers.

The lowest-end Turbo TCe 100 is a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that makes about 100 PS and 160 Nm, and has a 6-speed manual gearbox – good for driving in towns and being fuel efficient. The mid-range Turbo TCe 160 is a 1.3-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that makes 163 PS and 280 Nm. You can get this with a 6-speed manual, or a 6-speed DCT with a wet clutch for faster changes and smoother speed-up; the DCT would be good for people in towns who want something easy to use. The Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 has a 1.8-liter petrol engine, a 49 hp electric motor, and a 20 hp hybrid starter generator, plus a 1.4 kWh (280V) battery. Together, these give about 160 hp and 172 Nm, and Renault says you can get up to 80% of your driving in town from electric power, making it very efficient in the city.

Renault has kept the basic shape of the third-generation Duster, but has added styling that is for India.

The front has new headlights with eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lights which also work as turn signals. The grille now has the word DUSTER on it, instead of the Renault symbol, and the bumper has a sticking-out silver edge with fog lights in a pixel style.

The side has black plastic around the wheel arches, rear door handles on the C-pillar, and useful roof rails. At the back, triangular tail lights are joined by a full-width LED light bar that is only on the version for India. A textured place for the number plate, a roof spoiler, and a black bumper with a silver piece finish the look.

Inside, the Duster has been totally redone to suit what Indian people like.

There is a dual-screen setup with a 10.1-inch OpenR Link touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital display for the driver. The entertainment system can use wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and has Google built-in for connected features.

Comfort and convenience are big selling points. The inside has 6-way powered front seats that can be cooled, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, and a center armrest that can be moved forward and back. Renault also offers 48 colours of ambient lighting, a special center button panel, and green stitching as contrast for a high-class feel.

Safety features are complete: six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX anchors, disc brakes on all four wheels, an electric parking brake, and Level 2 ADAS with 17 features. The RGMP platform is the base of the car, and has been tested for long life and to meet 5-star safety standards.

The Duster is 4,346 mm long, 1,815 mm wide, and 1,703 mm high, with a 2,657 mm wheelbase and 212 mm of ground clearance. The angles for going onto and off of things are 26.9 and 34.7 degrees. Renault gives a warranty of up to seven years or 150,000 km as part of its ownership plan.

The car is meant to compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Tata Sierra, Honda Elevate, and others. With its many engines, up-to-date tech, and ability to go off-road, the new Renault Duster will try to get back some of the Indian midsize SUV market.
