Mahindra XUV 7XO Launches in India with Advanced Features and Pricing

Mahindra has released the XUV 7XO in India - an update to the XUV700 - with a cabin full of technology, better safety equipment, and prices that should be good in the market. It has the engines people already know, and newly adjusted suspension, so the XUV 7XO is meant to be comfortable and keep you in touch with things. You can reserve one from January 14, 2026, and the fancier models will begin to be delivered that same day.

Mahindra has put out the XUV 7XO in India, giving the well-liked XUV700 a more modern look, a cabin with lots of tech, and new suspension work. As a higher-end mid-size SUV, the XUV 7XO has tried and true engines, but also vehicle features run by software and first-in-class technology for people who want comfort, safety and the latest in car connection.

Cost, when you can reserve one, and when it will be delivered

The price is ₹13.66 lakh (ex-showroom) to start for the petrol models, and goes to around ₹24.11 lakh for the best versions. Diesel models start at about ₹14.96 lakh. Mahindra is giving a special starting price for the first 40,000 that are delivered. Reservations start January 14, 2026, with deliveries of the higher AX7-series models beginning the same day; the basic models will follow in April.

What the design and outside changes are

The XUV 7XO gets ideas from Mahindra’s electric concept cars, giving it a more defined front and a piano-black grill. New boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights, bi-LED projector headlights, diamond-cut 19-inch wheels, and redesigned tail lights give the shape a new look. Flush door handles, a panoramic sunroof, and different fog lights add current style without changing the basic look of the XUV700.

What’s inside and the tech it has

Inside, a set of three 12.3-inch screens across the cabin is the main thing, giving the driver, entertainment system, and front passenger screens as standard. The system uses ADRENOX+ on a Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8155P chip for quick action. The cabin also first has Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos in an ICE SUV, along with a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system for sound that surrounds you.

Connection and voice AI

Mahindra puts Alexa with ChatGPT together for better voice interaction, along with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other convenience features include wireless charging in the front and back, dual-zone climate control, mood lighting and a Boss Mode for the front passenger seat.

Engines and how it drives

The XUV 7XO still uses the 2.0-litre turbo petrol (around 197-200 bhp, 380 Nm) and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel (roughly 182-185 bhp, up to 450 Nm) engines we are used to. People who buy it can pick 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearboxes; diesel models still come with AWD as an option. Mahindra has changed the suspension and put in the DAVINCI valve-based damper system to give a more steady, soft ride.

Safety and ADAS

Safety is a main concern, with over 75 safety features across all models and Level-2 ADAS giving up to 17 functions. Equipment includes adaptive cruise, lane-keeping help, automatic emergency braking, 540-degree cameras all around with digital video recording, up to seven airbags, tyre-pressure monitoring and alerts for when the driver is getting sleepy. Mahindra is trying for high Bharat NCAP ratings as part of its safety claim.

Models and where it fits in

The XUV 7XO comes in AX, AX3, AX5, AX7, AX7T and AX7L models, with six- or seven-seat layouts depending on what you choose. Automatic models cost more (about ₹1.45 lakh extra) and AWD adds roughly ₹2.45 lakh. Mahindra sees the 7XO as being against cars like the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Toyota Hycross.

The XUV 7XO isn’t a totally new car, but a complete improvement of the XUV700, putting together engines people know with new software-run features and suspension tech. For people who want a mid-size SUV with lots of tech and a focus on safety, the 7XO is meant to balance performance, comfort and modern connection at a price that’s in competition with others. Test drives are being set up at dealerships after the release.
