Police were told that the two eleven-year-old boys had been kidnapped for 15 lakh rupees and were rescued because the police moved quickly. The four people suspected of the crime were arrested. These people are said to have gotten the children to go with them by promising them pets, and said they’d hurt the boys if the money wasn’t delivered by eleven at night.
Kidnapping and ransom demand in Indore
Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Vyas said the people who did this had been going to a park in the Palasia police area for several days where children play. They became friends with the boys by showing them pictures of dogs and cats on their phones.
One of the people involved, a woman, took Naitik Sonkar and Samrat Jaydev (both eleven) late Thursday night, saying her family was moving away and she would give them their animals.
According to DCP Vyas, the families of the boys received a message on WhatsApp asking for 15 lakh rupees for their sons’ safe return. The kidnappers said they would kill the children if the money wasn’t handed over by eleven pm on Thursday.
Police investigation and rescue
Once they knew about the kidnapping, the police put together a team of twenty-five people and started asking people in the area questions. Officers also looked at security camera recordings from the neighborhood to find out where the boys had gone and who the suspects were.
Following what they learned during the investigation, the boys were found safe in an apartment in a taller building in the Rajendra Nagar area. That location was about fifteen kilometers from the park where the children had been tricked.
Key developments in the case were confirmed by police:
– Ransom demand of Rs 15 lakh via WhatsApp
– Threats to kill the boys by 11 pm
– 25-member team led the investigation
– CCTV footage provided crucial leads
– Children rescued from Rajendra Nagar flat
– Four suspects arrested after the rescue
Accused and alleged motive
The people arrested were identified as Vineet Prajapati (22), Radhika Prajapati (19), Lalit Sen (21), and Tanisha Sen (20). Vineet and Radhika are brother and sister, and Lalit and Tanisha are married.
Radhika and Tanisha work for an online shopping business, and Lalit is a driver, said Vyas. Vineet used to work with the stock market but has been out of a job for six months. Vyas said none of the four have been in trouble with the law before, and they kidnapped the boys because they wanted to get money easily.
Vyas added that the group specifically chose the park and worked on getting the children to trust them before taking them. He said they used the boys’ love of animals and the fact that the park is a place they’re used to being, to get them to go with them.
Children identified and timeline
The boys were led away from the park late Thursday and rescued not long after the police started looking for them. Officials say the rescue happened around fifteen kilometers from the park, which shows how quickly the police responded.
Vyas explained how the trick worked: “A woman with the kidnappers took the two boys with her late Thursday evening, saying her family was leaving town and she would give them her pets.”
According to DCP Vyas, investigators established the following sequence:
– Accused visited the garden for several days
– They befriended the boys using pet photos
– A woman took the boys on Thursday evening
– Families received WhatsApp ransom demand
– No prior criminal record was found
– Motive was to make easy money
Why the case matters
This case shows how quickly criminals can get children to trust them in parks. It also shows how fast the police can rescue children when they have a team working together, are told quickly, and check security camera footage.
Police reports show the kidnapping was carefully planned to get money by scaring people and making it seem urgent. The fact that the boys are safe and the people who kidnapped them have been arrested is a relief. The details of the investigation, based on evidence, will be important for the legal proceedings.
