You could say Kangana has waded into the FWICE-Ranveer tussle. With the Don 3 mess still hot, she has made her support for the actor known. Put it this way: if you’re successful, you’ll have people to answer to, so don’t let the noise get to you. That’s the mood in Bollywood at the moment.
When the subject of a ban on Ranveer came up at the Tuesday launch of the Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata trailer, Kangana had a ready reply. “I’ve been banned by everyone,” she said with a quip. Then she put it in perspective: as you go, the hurdles come, but in the end, things work out.
Kangana’s take: success invites enemies
She sees it as part of the job. As you get bigger, so do your rivals. In a way, she turned the whole thing around to be a backhanded sort of praise for Ranveer – look at who is after you and you’ll know how high you’ve made it.
There is some of her own story in that. She has had her share of bans and hard times and is fine with it. Her new film, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, comes from Manoj Tapadia (who also wrote and directed) and is put out by Jayantilal Gada and Kangana via their respective banners. You can see it in cinemas from June 12.
Why FWICE moved against Ranveer Singh
A month back, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees put a directive in place for Ranveer that amounts to a shadow ban. BN Tiwari, the president of FWICE, was clear: they will not cooperate until the actor is willing to talk to them.
It all goes back to Don 3. Word is that after his Dhurandhar with Aditya Dhar did well, Ranveer made an abrupt exit in the face of some friction with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment in late 2025. Come April, Farhan was at the door of FWICE with a bill of Rs 45 crore in losses.
Don 3 and the casting churn
The numbers don’t lie. Shah Rukh Khan was the Don in 2006 and 2011, and then in 2023 they put Ranveer in the role. People were already talking.
Then there was the rumour mill churning over Hrithik Roshan possibly coming in, which he put to rest. All of that only put more of a spotlight on the non-cooperation and the way things left off.
What Ranveer’s camp says
As the row was heating up, a statement from Ranveer’s side was put out. He has the utmost respect for the fraternity and those in the Don orbit, and has decided to stay quiet to let any professional or personal matters be handled with the proper decorum and maturity.
They won’t be saying any more on it. While his fans have his back, he has been nowhere to be found in the fray. You can find him in Budapest instead, where he was seen to watch the UEFA Champions League Final between Arsenal and PSG.
What it means for Bollywood right now
This has become a test of who has the clout and the patience in a big franchise. Kangana is voicing what a lot of us feel: in a town that runs on momentum, some friction is the price of doing business.
