Vivo X300 Ultra and X300s: Dual 200MP Cameras, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Full Specs and Pricing

You can tell Vivo means business with the X300 Ultra and X300s. With dual 200MP sensors, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Zeiss optics on board, they are redefining what a flagship camera phone is. The Ultra has its modular zoom to set it apart; the s is for those who want a bit more of a value play. They hit China first, but don't expect them in India until May 2026.

When the X300 Ultra and X300s were put on the market in China on March 30, 2026, it was a statement. The X300 Ultra is the one to watch: it’s the first to put a dual 200MP camera in your pocket, a clear move to outmanoeuvre any rival looking to make a name in imaging.

Here is what Vivo is really shifting with the Ultra package:
– Dual 200MP sensors for primary and periscope
– Zeiss tuning across optics and colour science
– Teleconverters up to 400mm and 17.4x output
– Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 at the core

Vivo’s imaging play: resolution, optics and modularity

Vivo isn’t interested in half-measures or software gimmicks. It’s all about the sensor and the optics from Zeiss. On the Ultra, you have a 200MP main and 200MP periscope telephoto, with a 50MP ultrawide to round it out. The idea is to get good results no matter where you’re pointing it.

In some ways, the line between a phone and a system camera is being erased. Tack on an optional teleconverter and you can get to 400mm equivalent with as much as 17.4x output. It makes the Ultra something of a workhorse for anyone serious about zoom, which is a direct challenge to the way other flagships are made.

Then there’s the competition. You have the OPPO Find X9 Ultra likely to go down the same 200MP road, and the likes of Xiaomi and Samsung with their own well-rounded top-shelf models. Vivo is throwing its hardware-heavy hat in the ring.

Flagship fundamentals: display, performance and power

The X300 Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, so it’s in step with the rest of the fast Android crowd. With as much as 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, there’s little to slow down your AI or imaging.

It’s wrapped in a 6.82-inch LTPO OLED that refreshes at 120Hz. The flat frame is unobtrusive, letting the camera be the star. You can have it in Film Green, Silver Tone or Black.

For power, it does what you’d want from a big phone: a 7,000mAh battery, 100W wired and 40W wireless charging. If you’re behind the lens a lot, that will see you through the day with room to spare.

X300s aims for balanced flagship value

The X300s is a bit more of a conventional flagship, though the cameras are still the point of it. It’s on a MediaTek Dimensity 950 with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X and 1TB of UFS 4.1. The V3+ chip from Vivo is there to do the heavy lifting for the camera.

The 6.78-inch AMOLED is flat and 1.5K, with a 144Hz rate and plenty of nits when you need them. The 7,100mAh battery is a step up, and you get 90W/40W charging, even in reverse.

On the back, there’s a 200MP Samsung HPBr with OIS and CIPA 4.5, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP Sony LYTIA 602 periscope with Zeiss APO. It can handle 200mm portrait video and works with the G2 teleconverter.

Visually it’s in keeping with the Ultra, if a little more colourful with options like Dream Core Purple. Thin bezels and a Zeiss badge are enough to make the point.

Pricing, availability and India timeline

Pricing for the Ultra in China starts at 6,999 yuan and goes to 8,999, putting it in the same ballpark as the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. There’s a 16/1TB Satellite Edition for 11,999. Pre-orders are open and they go on sale April 3.

The X300s is a tier below, 4,999 to 6,999. You can of course add to the cost with some of the camera gear, like a video kit put together with SmallRig, but it opens up what you can do with the phone.

Word is the Ultra will come to India in May 2026, but the brand won’t be drawn on it. If it happens, it would be the first time an X-series Ultra has had a proper global run.

Who should consider which model

The Ultra is for the type of user who wants to have the last word on detail and doesn’t mind a teleconverter for a bit of control. The s is for the rest of us: a quick screen, a big battery and a 200MP system that doesn’t require extra kit.

What to watch next

We’ll have to see how the images hold up across the board and whether 400mm of reach is as useful as it sounds. With OPPO and the others in the mix, Vivo is going to be put to the test.

If the India numbers are right, we could be in for a very interesting few months in 2026.
