Delhi CM Offers Free DTC Bus Rides for NEET Retest Candidates on 21 June

In a bid to put transport worries to rest, Delhi's Chief Minister has put out the word: DTC bus rides will be on the house for NEET retest candidates on 21 June. It is a way of making sure students can put their heads down and concentrate on the exam, with free travel in hand so long as they have a valid admit card.

You can expect to get on any DTC bus without charge if you are a candidate for the 21 June retest. It is being sold as a no-nonsense solution to last-mile issues on what is one of the big days in a student’s calendar. Just show your admit card on the day and you are good to go.

Immediate travel relief for NEET retest day

“We don’t want anyone put at a disadvantage because of transport,” said CM Rekha Gupta in making the announcement. The idea is to take some of the edge off the commute before and after the paper, and this applies across the whole of the DTC system.

Gupta also took to a public message to wish the aspirants well and make it plain that all Delhi Transport Corporation buses will be open for free once you present your admit card.

How to avail the buses

When the time comes, it is simple enough for those who want to use the waiver:

– Have your valid admit card with you

– Present it in a DTC bus

– And you can make use of the service on 21 June

Trigger for the decision

This all comes in the wake of the NTA’s call to scrap the NEET UG 2026 over claims of a leak – a row that left over 22 lakh students in the lurch and led to some hard feelings. The retest is there to set things right and keep the process above board.

The new timetable has the Re-NEET UG 2026 running from 2 to 5:15 pm on 21 June. With admit cards due out by 14 June, it is a short span for students to get their affairs in order.

Comparisons with other states

Delhi isn’t the only one making an exception. Punjab has already made a similar offer to its Re-NEET takers, acknowledging the extra cost a re-sit can bring. From 20 to 22 June, you can ride a Punjab Roadways bus for nothing with your admit card in hand.

What students and centres can expect

For the families who have to deal with the unforseen costs of a re-exam, free DTC access is a welcome break. It also means more options for getting around town when you are up against the clock.

Centres should see a more even flow of candidates. When price is not an issue, you don’t get the same kind of late rush, which makes it easier for invigilators to handle the entry and seating.

What comes next

All eyes are on 14 June for the admit cards. After that, it is a matter of planning your route, knowing the DTC won’t be a cost on the 21st. The whole point is to let you focus on how you do in the exam, not on how you got there.

It is part of a larger effort to put things back in order after the NEET UG 2026 was called off. By lining up the transport with the exam, the authorities are trying to make up for the hiccups and put some mind at ease for the families involved.

The line from Delhi is unambiguous: we will remove the obstacles on 21 June so you can get in, get comfortable and face the paper. The only thing that matters for both the door and the bus is that you have a valid admit card.
