Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Flip 8, and Fold Wide Set for July 22 Launch: Latest Leaks

You can put it down to Samsung for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 coming out on July 22, 2026. What we've seen so far in the way of leaks is some better design, displays with more oomph, and bigger batteries. There's also talk of a new Z Fold Wide to get you in the mood. As for the cost in India, they're going to be in the high end of the market.

Samsung is about to put a new face on its foldables. We’re looking at a 22 July date for the Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8. If you believe the early word, you’ll be getting a slimmer form factor, a more vivid screen, a roomier cover display and a battery to match. The numbers for India have been put out there too, and they don’t come cheap.

Expected launch and design teasers

All signs are that a Galaxy Unpacked is in the works for July 22, 2026, and the Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 will be the stars. Then there is the matter of the Galaxy Z Fold Wide – a third option that has some people talking and makes for an interesting addition to what Samsung has up its sleeve.

We even had a tipster put up a clip of a Fold Wide dummy unit not long ago. It’s a white mock-up with the works: dual cameras in back, the rockers for power and volume, and a USB-C port. You can see how thin it is when you put it away. Of course, these dummies aren’t always a one-to-one with what you’ll buy in store.

The nomenclature is still up in the air. Some have it that the Z Fold Wide might just be called the Z Fold8, with the next version of the Z Fold7 being an Ultra. Don’t hold your breath for any confirmation from Samsung on that front, though.

Fold 8: brighter, faster, more capable

If you use a foldable as your go-to for work, the screen on the Fold 8 is where it’s at. We’re hearing about an 8-inch main panel with 120Hz and 2,600 nits of peak brightness. The 6.5-inch on the outside does 120Hz as well.

As for the engine, it’s likely to be a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 from Qualcomm, with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage if you want it. A 5000 mAh cell with 45W wired and wireless charging means you won’t be tethered to a wall all day.

The camera setup is supposed to be no slouch either. Word is you’ll find a 200-megapixel main, a 50MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto with 3x zoom. And for when you need to make a call or put something together, there are 10-megapixel front shooters on both sides of the phone to make sure the video looks right no matter how you have it in hand.

Flip 8: bigger cover screen and battery headroom

This year’s clamshell is all about being handy. The Z Flip 8 is said to have a 6.9-inch fold and a 4.1-inch cover, so you can put in a quick text, check a widget or frame a shot without having to open it up.

Inside, they may be running with an in-house Exynos 2600. The 4300 mAh battery and 25W fast charge should give you some extra run. On the imaging side, you can count on a 50MP primary, 12MP wide and a 10MP for selfies.

An alternative foldable is also in play

Then there is the Z Fold Wide, which is a bit of a different animal. The specs we have are for a 7.6-inch 4:3 inner display, 4,800mAh of juice and two 50MP rear cameras. Some reports say this could be part of the Fold8 family in name.

India pricing and what to watch next

Over in India, the Z Fold 8 will likely set you back in the region of Rs 1,85,999 to 1,89,999. The Z Flip 8 is a bit easier on the wallet, starting in the neighbourhood of Rs 1,19,999. We’ll have a better idea once Samsung puts a date on the calendar for July 22.

Here is what to keep an eye on in the meantime:
– The official word from Samsung on the event
– What they decide to call the new line-up
– The hard numbers on the specs and cameras
– When you can pre-order and the final price in India

Put it all in a pile and the story is clear: these are upgrades you can actually feel. A more potent Fold 8 and a no-fuss Flip 8, with maybe a reworked Fold Wide to boot, and you have Samsung making a case for itself before the festive season hits.
