For those of you in the mood to watch from home, there’s no need to be in a hurry. Drishyam 3 is on its way to Amazon Prime Video, which has been put on record as the film’s digital home. The only thing up in the air is the when, even as the movie remains a hit in cinemas.
Where to see it
Prime Video has the rights. That much is clear. Neither they nor the producers have put a date on the calendar for the premiere, but the streamer has made it known the title will be there once the theatrical leg is done.
If you follow the usual six- to eight-week window after a film leaves the big screen, you can expect this one to show up by the end of June or in the first part of July. Don’t count on it being official just yet, though.
What it means for you
The hold-up for a home viewing is almost at an end. You can see for yourself that the film is still pulling in crowds, critics and regulars alike, and that’s what has the OTT talk going. For a lot of people, the move to Prime is the cue to get into it.
Box office numbers have a say in the timing
Let the figures do the talking. In the first 58 hours, Drishyam 3 put in Rs 100 crore from around the world and was over Rs 170 crore in a week. With that kind of pull, it makes sense the film is staying on the big screen while the interest is there.
It came out May 21, 2026, to mark Mohanlal’s 66th birthday, so fans had two reasons to be in the theatre. As for when Prime Video will make an announcement, that is what we are all waiting on.
The lay of the land
Here is where we stand:
– Amazon Prime Video is the one to have
– No word on the exact day for OTT
– It will be up for streaming when the cinema run is over
– Six to eight weeks is the norm
– End of June or early July is the bet, but not a given
The film in a nutshell
Picking up where the last one left off, you have Mohanlal as Georgekutty, who has made it as a producer. He and his family are on with life, but the loss of Varun is a hard pill to swallow and lingers on.
Then you have the other side of the coin: an effort to put the screws to Georgekutty. The police and Varun’s parents are in league to build a case. It is the centre of the story, pitting his troubles against their determination to see him fall.
Who is in it
Jeethu Joseph is behind the camera. You have Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil with Mohanlal. And then there are the likes of Siddique, Murali Gopy, Biju Menon and Kalabhavan Shajohn in the mix.
Aashirvad Cinemas and Panorama Studios are the ones putting up the money, as you would expect with a franchise of this size.
When to put it in your calendar?
Late June or early July is a good guess if you go by the book, but wait for Prime to put something out. For now, the film is still in the theatres since its launch back in May 2026.
Make a note on your Prime Video list and be ready for it. Whether you are for it or not, this is the one everyone is talking about.
