It is one of those weekends where the marquee names are vying for your time, not to mention a few you might not have on your radar. Come in between June 22 and 28 and you’ll find the ones making all the noise – from Avatar to the new Targaryen saga – and then some, with no shortage of good stuff to be had on any given platform.

The heavyweights everyone is talking about

For pure scale, there is Avatar: Fire and Ash, now on JioHotstar in a few languages. James Cameron has us back in Pandora with Jake Sully and Neytiri having to make their way through some hard times and fresh dangers. You can count on it being in most living rooms for the next few days.

If you’d rather have your dragons than an alien world, House of the Dragon Season 3 has been up on JioHotstar in India since the 22nd. The Targaryen in-fighting is in full swing, with the likes of Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke and Tom Glynn-Carney at the helm of the latest moves.

History fans can put in for Raja Shivaji when it comes to Netflix on the 26th. Riteish Deshmukh is both in front of and behind the camera for this one, which made over Rs 100-crore in theatres. It’s the story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s ascent, with a cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Bhagyashree, Mahesh Manjrekar and Genelia Deshmukh.

New seasons, new homes, and comfort binges

Prime Video has been streaming Gram Chikitsalay Season 2 since June 23, 2026. It’s a dramedy with a lot of heart and a wry edge as Dr Prabhat is back in Bhatkhandi to face off with some new problems and a bit of social commentary.

Then there is Perfect Family from Sony LIV on the 26th. Put in some time with Gulshan Devaiah, Neha Dhupia and Manoj Pahwa in this psychodrama that will have you in stitches while it deconstructs the whole idea of a put-together family.

Reality TV is put through its paces with Lock Upp Season 2 on Netflix, starting June 27. Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh are on hand to see 14 of our top celebrities put in a room and put to the test in a prison setting. Expect some headlines.

Action, thrills and left-field surprises

After some adrenaline? Blast is on Netflix from the 25th. In this Tamil thriller, a criminal element makes a mess of karate man Rajaram’s home life and he has to do what he has to do to put it right.

Two for the price of one on Netflix come the 26th. There is Little Brother, where John Cena and Eric Andre get into some funny business with an estate agent and his brother. And if you want to be on edge, the Korean film Agent Kim Reactivated has a former spook pulled back in after his daughter is taken.

JioHotstar has Lingam on 26 June. It is a case of a kabaddi player’s police dreams being derailed by a murder charge he didn’t commit, and his quest to set the record straight.

Critically loved and offbeat additions

Blue Jasmine is on Prime Video as of the 26th if you did not get to it in the cinema. Cate Blanchett is as good as ever in a fine character piece on what it is like to put yourself back together.

And for a change of pace, JioHotstar is putting out Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness. From the mind of Larry David, it has a way of making fun of certain eras in American history with a very dry wit.

More titles rounding out the week

The live-action side of things gets some love on Netflix with Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 on June 25, 2026, and we also have Toph Beifong in the mix. The American Experiment and Another Self Season 3 are also due out on the 24th of this month.

On the 22nd, 2026, Amazon Prime Video will have See You At Work Tomorrow!, a Korean romance to even out the score with some of the more intense fare of the week.

Quick picks for every mood

Here is a handy list to get you started:

– Avatar: Fire and Ash on JioHotstar now

– House of the Dragon S3 on JioHotstar since June 22

– Raja Shivaji on Netflix from June 26

– Lock Upp Season 2 on Netflix from June 27

– Gram Chikitsalay S2 on Prime Video since June 23

What to watch first and why it matters

Make it a night of Avatar: Fire and Ash for the spectacle and to be part of the conversation. Or put on Raja Shivaji for a good old-fashioned historical that has already shown it can draw a crowd.

House of the Dragon is the one to have if you want to be in the know. For an evening without the stress, try Perfect Family or Little Brother and wind down with something like Blue Jasmine to put things in perspective.
