Vivo X Fold 6: A Foldable with 7,000mAh Battery and 200MP Camera for Power Users

Vivo has put out the X Fold 6 in China, a foldable with a 7,000mAh battery and 200MP cameras for those who want one device to do it all - work, make things, or just be entertained. The idea is to set a new standard with some solid hardware and software on the inside.

It’s a big bet from Vivo to see what you can get in the real world. Since its June 2026 debut in China, this book-style phone has been making waves by putting a 7,000mAh cell and a 200MP camera in the hands of people who don’t like to be tied down to one function.

You’ll notice the stamina first. There’s a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery in here, one of the biggest you’ll find in a foldable, and with 80W wired and 40W wireless charging, you won’t be waiting long to top it off. Then there’s the hinge; Vivo says it’s good for 600,000 open-and-shuts, so they’re not worried about it holding up to daily use.

Performance and displays

Unfold it and you have an 8.02-inch OLED made with Samsung M14 material that can hit 5,000 nits. The cover is 6.51 inches. They both do 120Hz, HDR, 100 percent DCI-P3, 1.07 billion colours and a 300Hz touch sample rate.

The 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super is what makes it go. You’ve got a 4.21GHz prime core, three at 3.5GHz for performance and four efficiency ones at 2.7GHz, with an ARM Mali G1-Ultra GPU to back it up. If you want, you can have 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

There’s a side-mounted fingerprint reader for when you need to get in or pay for something, as well as face unlock. And with IP58/59 ratings for dust and water, you have a bit more of a safety net than with some of the older models.

Cameras and creative tools

Up front is a 200-megapixel main with OIS, part of a Zeiss triple setup. It has a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP periscope telephoto on either side. That telephoto will let you get 100x digital zoom in on something without having to walk over to it.

If you want to get even closer, there’s an external 200mm extender for the 3x lens that does 8.3x natively and 17x with no loss. For video, you can do 8K or 4K at 60fps in Dolby Vision. Selfies and calls are covered by a 20-megapixel shooter on each of the two screens.

Durability, software, and productivity

Size-wise, it’s 157.16 x 145.66 x 4.40mm when you put it flat, and 157.16 x 74.26 x 9.40mm in your pocket. Weighing in at 228g or so, it’s meant to be as easy to carry as it is to use, whether you’re on a plane or in a meeting.

It comes with Android 16 and OriginOS 6 Fold. The new Origin Workbench is where the multitasking happens; you can set up split views and save them to open with a tap. A new file manager with some AI in it will even suggest files for your next meeting or rename them for you.

Connectivity and sensors

You’re looking at 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB-C and the usual GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS and NavIC. It also has an ambient light and proximity sensor, a gyroscope, e-compass, and an IR blaster.

All of this is to make the X Fold 6 a better all-rounder, with less lag in multi-window mode and a camera that can keep up when you’re out and about.

Price and availability

Vivo is offering three versions in China. Here’s what they cost:

– 12GB/256GB: 7,999 yuan (about Rs 1,10,966)

– 16GB/1TB: 10,999 yuan (some Rs 1,52,584)

– Black Gold 16GB/1TB: 11,299 yuan (in the region of Rs 1,56,768)

You can get it in Blue Hole, Salt Lake, Polar Night or the Black Gold, which is for the 1TB model only. It’s in stores in China now, but we don’t have a word on when it might come to the rest of the world.

Between the battery life, the way the cameras perform and the way it handles multiple apps, the X Fold 6 is built to put up a fight with the competition. If you’re a power user after a no-fuss, do-everything phone, this is a strong case from Vivo.
