Raghav Chadha’s Warning to AAP: ‘Ghayal hoon isliye ghatak hoon’; Denies Allegations

Raghav Chadha, a member of the Rajya Sabha (the upper house of Parliament), is saying the accusations against him from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are totally false and are for political reasons, after he was removed from the position of deputy leader. He is demanding proof of these accusations and says he will reveal what he believes are lies. Chadha stresses that he's been concentrating on actual government work and policy, and warns there could be political consequences because of this.

After being removed as the AAP’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, Raghav Chadha has strongly responded to his party. He says this is a ‘coordinated attack’ and denies many accusations. He stated, using the line ‘Ghayal hoon isliye ghatak hoon’ (meaning roughly, I am wounded, therefore I am dangerous) that he is determined and will reveal the “untruths.”

Chadha’s Response to Party Allegations

Chadha says the things he’s being accused of were planned and done to harm him politically, not a genuine attempt within the party to hold him accountable.

In a video on X (formerly Twitter), Chadha promised to respond to every claim and make the proof available. His manner showed both that he won’t back down and that things should be done in a clear, open way.

Walkout Claims and Call for CCTV Proof

One accusation was that Chadha didn’t participate in protests with other opposition members when they walked out of Parliament. He says this is a “blatant lie” and challenges people to show recordings of Parliament sessions to prove it.

Chadha reminds people that everything in Parliament is filmed and watched. He wants CCTV footage and official records checked before anyone makes a decision about what happened, saying the issue can be proven and isn’t just about what people say.

Impeachment Motion Dispute and Signature Issue

Chadha also denies that he wouldn’t sign a motion against the Chief Election Commissioner. He says no one in the party directly asked him to sign it, and points out that other members didn’t sign it either.

He explained how things work in the Rajya Sabha: a motion needs 50 signatures. Chadha thinks that 50 signatures could have been gathered and asks why he alone is being blamed when the problem is with the whole plan.

Defending Parliamentary Record and Public Issues Raised

Chadha’s work in Parliament has been on important public policies, not causing problems. He has spoken about the Goods and Services Tax (GST), income tax, air pollution, managing water, healthcare, and education.

He’s also been concerned with issues in society like menstrual health, joblessness, rising prices, and problems faced by people travelling on the railways. Chadha says he is aiming for results for the public that can be measured, rather than just making a show of protest or shouting in Parliament.

Advocacy on Local Governance and Women’s Representation

Beyond debates about the budget and policy, Chadha has brought up the “sarpanch pati” issue. This is when husbands or other male relatives really control women who have been elected to local council seats (reserved for women). He has said the goal of the 73rd Constitutional Amendment to strengthen local government should be enforced.

Since becoming a member of Parliament in April 2022, Chadha has publicly focused on government and genuinely giving women power. He says these issues are at the heart of how a democracy should be accountable.

Party Change and Political Ramifications

The AAP told the Rajya Sabha Secretariat that Ashok Kumar Mittal will now take Chadha’s place as deputy leader. This change has started a bigger conversation about how well the party controls its members and who it chooses as leaders.

Chadha says replacing him is part of a ‘planned campaign’ and indicates the disagreement could get worse. People will be watching to see if this is just a change in who holds a position within the party, or if it turns into a much larger political battle.

What to Watch Next in This Political Row

We can expect more demands for proof and for things to be done in a clear way. If the recordings and signatures are available, they could solve the arguments about the facts. If they aren’t, the divisions inside the party could get deeper.

For the time being, Chadha’s statement – ‘Ghayal hoon isliye ghatak hoon’ – clearly shows his attitude. He is saying that his next steps will be both to defend himself and to fight back, and that this situation will affect what he does in Parliament and how the party works from now on.
