TG ECET 2026 Counselling: Key Dates and Steps for Lateral Entry Aspirants

The TG ECET 2026 counselling is now on for those in Telangana looking to make a lateral entry into BTech and BPharmacy. You have until June 18 to register, but you'll need to have your certificates verified by the 19th. It's a matter of following the schedule to the letter if you want to put down a claim on a seat; there's no room for error with how these things are run.

Telangana has put the TG ECET 2026 process in motion and the clock is running for any aspirants. The first phase of registration is up and will be off as of June 18, 2026. That leaves a narrow opening for diploma and B.Sc Mathematics graduates who are after second-year spots in BTech or BPharmacy.

For students, the message is straightforward: one misstep and you could see Round 1 pass you by. We’ve been told by officials that getting your papers in order for verification is non-negotiable within the given dates. And don’t think you can swap out the mobile number you put in at sign-up – you can’t.

What this means for students

In a way, TG ECET is the back door for engineering, technology and pharmacy diploma holders, as well as B.Sc Math grads, to get into year two of their programmes in Telangana. When the calendar is this tight, you have to be deliberate about every move to keep your options on the table.

You still have to meet the same old criteria. A pass in a Diploma in Engineering, Technology or Pharmacy, or a B.Sc (Mathematics) with 45% or more will do it. If you’re in a reserved category, 40% is the floor.

Key dates and actions

Make sure you work around these for the first phase:

– Put in your registration, pay up and book a slot: June 15-18, 2026

– Get to a helpline centre for verification: June 17-19, 2026

– Finalise your web options: on or before June 21, 2026

– See where you’ve been placed in Round 1: June 24, 2026

– Settle tuition and self-report: June 24-27, 2026

By the 21st of June, you should have your college and branch preferences in the system and locked in. If you get a seat, you’ll have from the 24th to the 27th to handle the fee and the rest on the portal.

Where to register

Head over to the official TG ECET site. The notice will point you to tgecet.nic.in, and the Telangana Council of Higher Education has a link through tgecetd.nic.in as well. Best to use the one in your notification and not put it off.

How the process works

Before you can do anything, you have to do three things in the first phase: sign up, hand over the processing fee and reserve a time for certificate verification at a helpline. Once that’s done, you can start making your web choices.

It will cost Rs 1,200 for OC and BCs, and half that for SC/ST. You can use a card or net banking, so there is some leeway in how you handle it.

Have these on you before you begin:

– Your TG ECET admit card

– The form number

– DOB

– Captcha

To log in, you’ll need the hall ticket number and your date of birth as per SSC. After you’ve booked, save the confirmation page for later.

Exam timeline so far

We’re on a hard schedule. The exam was held on May 15, 2026, in one go from 9 to 12. With results out on the 29th, we’ve moved right along to the allotment side of things.

Implications for helpline centres and colleges

Since verification is being done in a three-day span from the 17th to the 19th, expect the helpline centres to be busy. They have to be on top of slot bookings to make sure students don’t lose their standing for Round 1.

The bottom line for you is don’t put it off. Make sure your slot is set, get your papers in and have your choices frozen by June 21. Fall behind and you might not be in the running for the June 24 result or the chance to pay up and report after that.
