Want to know how fast Ahaan Panday is making the most of his year? Just have a look at the streets of London. Some footage has come out of the set of Ali Abbas Zafar’s project and it has people chattering about his second foray on the big screen, with him and Sharvari Wagh in the middle of a song in Birmingham and London.
Why the London shoot has fans talking
There are a couple of moods to be had in the clips that are going around. One has him in a black leather jacket, strolling and singing along like he owns the place. In another, he’s in a purple top and denims, weaves through a crowd, then gives you a wave and a grin when the director calls it. Then there is the one everyone is sharing: the 28-year-old in time with Challa from Jab Tak Hai Jaan. He has some background dancers with him and you can tell why people are raving about his timing. Sure, the UK setting is nice, but it is the way he looks with that short hair and a well-kept beard, and just the way he carries himself, that makes it work. What this project promises
They haven’t put a date on the calendar yet, but you can tell they are after something. It is an Ali Abbas Zafar film, so you have Sharvari, Bobby Deol and Aaishvary Thackeray in the mix with Ahaan. They are touting it as a no-holds-barred kind of entertainer and the first few frames don’t lie. It won’t be all soft and sweet. There is action in there too, and you will see the actor in a light you haven’t before. Before they made the trip over, they were at Yash Raj Films in Mumbai, so it is a production with some heft to it. And you have a director with a track record. Zafar has given us Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai, so you can bet he is putting his own stamp on this. That goes for the kind of set pieces and choreography you spot in the videos.
Ahaan Panday’s fast rise
He was the one to watch in 2025, and for good reason. His first film with Mohit Suri, Saiyaara, was a hit. With Aneet Padda, they made for a compelling romantic drama that got the word out for its music and the way they put in the work. Saiyaara was about a singer and a lyricist, Krish and Vaani, and it let you in on Ahaan’s musical side. This new one is building on that with the songs, but the action angle is a move to show he can do more than that. Judging by what has come out of the UK, he is making his romantic side over for a wider audience while adding some bite. Fans of a hot new star like to see that sort of range.
What comes next
The run in London and Birmingham is where the noise is coming from. The videos have Ahaan and Sharvari in the feed and that is not going to let up once we get some of the finished product. As for when we will see it, that is still up in the air. No word on a release date from the makers. So we wait and see where Zafar and this mix of romance and action will put Ahaan for his second act.
