Allu Arjun Summoned by Hyderabad Court in Sandhya Theatre Stampede Case

The Nampally Court in Hyderabad has called on Allu Arjun to come in for the Sandhya Theatre stampede case. You have to go back to a special screening of Pushpa 2 to see where this is coming from - an event that left one person dead and a child with some serious injuries. The chargesheet is all about the kind of safety and crowd control oversights that put a spotlight on what we mean by celebrity responsibility.

It’s not the kind of headline for Pushpa 2 that you would have put up on a fan wall. But then again, the court has made it clear: Allu Arjun is to be there in the flesh on Monday, June 22. It’s a matter of putting star power, the safety of the public, and who has to answer for it, all in the same room.

Court move and who is in the dock

Chikkadpally Police have put Allu Arjun down as Accused No. 11. The theatre’s management make up for the first ten. In all, 19 have been summoned, even if the police have already put a charge sheet in front of 23 people.

There is a new sense of urgency to the case now that it is before the court. For a year, they’ve been looking into how things were allowed to happen and who was at fault; the summons are the next part of that process.

What led to the case

You can trace it to Dec. 4, 2024, at the Sandhya Theatre in RTC X Roads. A special show of Pushpa 2 was on, but outside, a stampede broke out and it was fatal. Revathi didn’t make it, and her young son was badly hurt.

The police say the place was packed with fans wanting to see the actor. We know from reports that after the fact, Allu Arjun was in judicial custody for a night before the Telangana High Court let him out on bail.

Allegations in the chargesheet

If you read what the investigators have put together, the chargesheet points to a number of issues:
– The event went on without the right permits, they say
– The actor was on hand even with permission and safety in question
– There was no real co-ordination with the authorities on the ground
– Negligence when it came to security and the crowd
– Not having a way for VIPs to get in and out of the theatre on their own

Make no mistake, the chargesheet is about holding people to account for what is being alleged, not a foregone conclusion of guilt. We are in the trial phase now.

Aftermath and support for the injured boy

Outside of the legal side of things, a family is still in the thick of it. Sritej, the boy, was in and out of consciousness after the stampede. He had to be on a ventilator for weeks to deal with respiratory and neurological problems.

He’s been in and out of intensive care for close to five months. They finally got him out in April 2025 and over to a centre in Ramgopalpet for more treatment. His father has said they’ve had some financial help and it’s been there for them.

Allu Aravind and Sneha Reddy, the actor’s wife, were in to see the family recently. They wanted to know how he was doing and to make sure they would be there for them. Aravind is on record as telling Sritej’s little sister: ‘Study well, I will bear all the expenses for your education.’

And it’s not just words. The Allus and the production house behind Pushpa have been chipping in for Sritej’s medical bills as he recovers. Some of this was put on view by a fan page for the actor.

Apology, money promised, and what comes next

Allu Arjun didn’t wait long to put out an apology. He was very open about his regret, sent his sympathies to the family, and put 25 lakh on the table.

Now it’s a matter of waiting for Monday, June 22. When he makes his appearance, it will be less about what’s being said on social media and more about the evidence and the law. Fandom aside, the issue is plain to see: how do you handle a crowd like this in India, and who has to face the music when the system doesn’t hold up?
