Mumbai Police Arrest Golu Pandit, Key Accused in Rohit Shetty House Firing Case

Golu Pandit, the fourteenth person arrested in the shooting outside Rohit Shetty's house, was apprehended by Mumbai police in Agra. He's connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and had been getting away from police for a month. Pandit is accused of organizing the attack and has been in trouble with the law before. This case really shows how difficult it is to deal with criminals operating in multiple states.

Mumbai police arrested Golu Pandit (who is also known as Pradeep Sharma) on Saturday in connection with the shooting at Rohit Shetty’s home in Juhu. Police say Pandit ran the ‘Agra section’ of the gang of Lawrence Bishnoi, who is in prison, and was hiding in Uttar Pradesh.

Arrest location and operation details

A senior investigator said that after looking for Pandit for a month and a half, the police found him in a village close to Agra. The Mumbai crime branch and the UP Special Task Force worked together and arrested Pandit while he was visiting a relative in Agra.

Pandit is going to be taken to Mumbai and brought before the MCOCA court. He was arrested for being part of the plan for the shooting on January 31st at the director’s house in Juhu, where many shots were fired at the building.

Alleged role in the conspiracy and gang links

Investigators claim Pandit put the main shooter, Deepak Sharma, in touch with Shubham Lonkar and Arzoo Bishnoi. He’s described as a close friend of the Bishnoi gang and is said to have coordinated the group that planned the shooting.

Pandit has been in trouble before in Rajasthan for trying to murder people and for getting money from them by threatening them; he was arrested and then let out on bail. Officials say his calls and messages with Anmol Bishnoi and others show he was central to the conspiracy that led to the shooting at the house.

Case progress and broader investigation

Police have figured out that Deepak Sharma and another person went to the area near the house many times to check it out. On January 31st, Sharma came to Mumbai with helpers, had some alcohol, drove to the house and fired a lot of shots, then drove away.

Sharma supposedly was offered Rs 3 lakh to do the shooting, and he’d only received Rs 50,000 so far. Other people accused in the case were waiting nearby, and the group used people they knew locally and social media to find people to join them, according to the police.
