Samsung Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, S26 Ultra Leaks: Design, One UI 8.5, Specs, India Price, Launch Date

Samsung is planning to release the Galaxy S26 line of phones in February 2026. They're predicted to have a new, pill-shaped area on the back for the cameras, run Android 16 with Samsung's One UI 8.5, and in most countries use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Information that's leaked so far suggests improvements to the camera and artificial intelligence features, the possibility of Exynos versions in some places, a February 25th release date, and prices in India from Rs t 84,999 to Rs 1,34,999.

Samsung is making some significant changes to their main phones for 2026, and early leaks tell us about them. Instead of being revealed in late January as in the past, the Galaxy S26 phones are now expected in February. The design changes are visible in a test version of One UI. Here’s what to anticipate.

Samsung Galaxy S26 design: farewell floating rings

The S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra are all likely to move away from the separate, floating camera rings Samsung currently uses. Leaked images of the phone’s software show a pill shape for the camera area, with each lens being in its own circle within the shape.

This is similar to the look of Samsung’s folding phones, creating a simpler, more consistent design on the back of the S-series. You’ll also be able to tell where the cameras are more easily.

The Ultra model will also have a slight change. The usually very square edges of the top-end phone might be a little more rounded to make it more comfortable to hold. We don’t yet know what materials or colors it will come in.

Software: Android 16 with One UI 8.5

One UI 8.5, based on Android 16, is expected to be on all the Galaxy S26 phones. It’s being described as a good, but not huge, improvement on what’s currently available, with smoother movement on the screen and better ability to do multiple things at once.

Samsung is also improving the AI features throughout One UI. You can expect the phone to make smarter suggestions for photos, tools that work with what you’re doing, and faster processing of information on the phone itself for both your privacy and speed.

You’ll have more options for customizing the phone too. Leaks point to widgets you can change more easily, more choices for the lock screen, and better connections between your phone, tablet, and smartwatch.

A beta (test) version of One UI 8.5 for people who already have a Galaxy S25 could be out as early as mid-December. This timing suggests the software for the S26 is almost finished.

Specifications and hardware (expected)

Most of the phones will probably have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 inside. However, some areas might get versions with Exynos processors, so Samsung will continue to use both types of chips.

The cameras are said to be a major point of improvement, especially on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. They will be upgraded, work better in low light, and use more advanced computer-based photography.

AI will be doing more of the work when processing pictures. The Ultra is expected to use AI on the phone to make night photos quicker, zoom pictures clearer, and track things that are moving more reliably.

We don’t have the exact screen sizes or picture quality yet, but it’s a good assumption that all the phones will have a 120Hz refresh rate (meaning the picture updates 120 times a second). The battery sizes and how quickly they charge aren’t known at this time.

The project has the internal name ‘Miracle’ and seems to be about making things better rather than completely changing them. That means a phone that responds faster, a better camera, and small improvements to make things generally better.

Samsung Galaxy S26 launch date

Many reports say Samsung will have an ‘Unpacked’ event in San Francisco on February 25th, 2026 to reveal the phones. This would be the first time in several years they’ve launched their main S-series in February.

If these dates are correct, you’ll likely be able to order the phones shortly after, and they’ll be in stores within a couple of weeks. In India, they usually become available at roughly the same time as everywhere else.

Remember that these dates are not official until Samsung actually sends out invitations to the event.

Samsung Galaxy S26 price in India (expected)

Initial estimates for prices in India are:

Galaxy S26: approximately Rs 84,999

Galaxy S26 Plus: approximately Rs 99,999

Galaxy S26 Ultra: approximately Rs 1,34,999

These prices could change depending on how much storage you get, how much the parts cost, and the exchange rate between currencies. Samsung will probably have their usual deals at launch, including discounts with certain banks, money for your old phone, and included accessories.

Because of the competition, Samsung might price the S26 line to go directly against Apple’s next iPhones, and might be a little cheaper than some other high-end phones.

Early outlook: evolution where it matters

The change to a pill-shaped camera area gives the phones a new look, but doesn’t make a massive change. One UI 8.5, running on Android 16, is focused on making things better in ways you use every day: being faster, smoother, and having smarter AI.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the one for people who want all the features. If the new sensors and AI work as they should, it could once again be the best phone for taking pictures.

If you have a Galaxy S24 or S25, whether to buy an S26 might depend on how important the camera is to you and how good the software is. Everyone else should keep the S26 line in mind as a good, all-around improvement to their flagship phones.

As with anything that’s leaked, these details are just a starting point. The specifications, prices, and dates could all be different when the phones are actually released. But the overall idea is clear: improvements, smarter software, and a cleaner design for 2026.
