Thane District Dispute Turns Deadly: Man Stabbed, Three Arrested

A 30-year-old man in Thane district was put to the knife after a row, and three men have been taken into custody over it. It all went down in Mharalgaon, Kalyan taluka. The trouble started when the victim was about to make a police complaint. His brother put in a report and the police were on top of it, making the arrests.

Police put out the word on Saturday that they had three in their cells for the stabbings of a 30-year-old in Thane late Friday. In Mharalgaon, what was a personal matter of some sort and a threat to go to the cops turned into a lethal street incident at about 9 pm.

Swift action and charges filed

The Kalyan taluka force moved in on the suspects in no time. They have put the case on record under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), specifically for murder under 103(1) and criminal conspiracy under 61(2).

It was the victim’s brother who made the complaint, an official said, and that is what put the police on the right track for the arrests.

The dispute behind the killing

Ravindra – also known as Pintaya or Dokya Yashwant Ahire – had some history with one of the accused, Deepak Sukhdev Dange, says Inspector Mukesh Dhage of the Kalyan station. Ravindra was set on going to the police to deal with Dange.

That put the accused in a huff, and he was ambushed later in the evening as a result.

How the attack unfolded

At 9 or so, Ravindra was cut off at the Malkhamb Compound in Mharalgaon. He was hemmed in and set upon with bladed weapons.

He was stabbed over and over – in the stomach, head, side and face. He didn’t make it; he was dead where he fell.

Who has been arrested

The police have these three in hand:

– Vijay Bhide

– Parshuram Bhide

– Deepak Sukhdev Dange

What police say happened next

Dhage says the three made a run for it after the stabbing but were rounded up in a matter of hours. What part they each played will be looked at under the BNS.

The brother’s complaint was the key to filing the charges and moving in on them so fast.

Why this matters and the road ahead

You see with the Thane case how a planned complaint can turn a disagreement into something you can’t come back from. The police are saying the whole thing was born of anger at Ravindra for wanting to involve the authorities.

Now the case is in the BNS system with 103(1) and 61(2) in play. The officials are clear: the arrests were no slouch and came straight from the brother’s tip-off.

Key points from the official account

Here is the story as the police tell it:

– It was around 9 pm in Mharalgaon when the man was killed.

– A sharp object was the instrument of the crime.

– The victim was on his way to file a grievance against Dange.
