Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Launches in India with 50MP Periscope Zoom and AI Features

You can put the Edge 70 Pro+ on your calendar for June 4, 2026. Motorola is making a play in India with a phone that has a 50MP periscope lens and some AI to back it up. If you want better design and photography without the top-tier price, this one is for you. You'll be able to get it from Flipkart or straight from Motorola's site.

It’s all about bringing periscope zoom to the masses in India. The Edge 70 Pro+ is set to drop on 4th June with a 50MP periscope for 3.5x optical and as much as 50x with the AI super zoom. It’s meant to rattle the cages of the sub-premium crowd. We don’t have a price tag yet, but it will be in stores and online.

What is new and why it matters

The big story here is the optical reach. You won’t find a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5x zoom on the regular Edge 70 Pro, so the Pro+ is in a class of its own when it comes to long-range. That means you’re looking at less noise in your wildlife shots, a cleaner frame for stage photos and a portrait with a bit more compression to flatter the subject.

Then there’s the 50MP Sony Lytia 710 for the main camera, which has 3.5 degrees of OIS. Motorola is touting everything from night mode to a 50x pro super zoom. In short, they want you to have no trouble getting good detail whether you’re wide or far out.

Launch timeline and where to buy

June 4, 2026 is the date for the India launch. You can order it from Flipkart, the website or a retailer. There will be some kind of offer at the time of sale, but we can’t say what yet.

Here is the rundown of what has been put on the table:

– Hitting the market in India on 4th June, 2026

– Available on Flipkart, retail and the web

– 3.5x optical zoom from a 50MP periscope

– 50MP Sony LYTIA-710 with OIS as the primary

– A choice of three Pantone colours

Design, colours, and the extra button

This is where the Pro+ makes its mark with materials. We’ve been shown three options: a sculpted wood look in Chicory Coffee, a twill pattern for the Stormy Sea and a satin finish in Zinfandel. All of them are supposed to feel slim and premium in your hand.

On the left side, there’s an extra button. Word on the street is it’s an AI Key for quick access to tools, but Motorola hasn’t put any fine print on it just yet.

Leaked hardware at a glance

Assuming the leaks hold water and this is a rebranded Edge 70 Pro, you’re in for a 6.8-inch 1.5K pOLED with 144Hz and 5,200 nits of brightness. It should also be IP68 and IP69 rated, so 30 minutes in 1.5m of water is no problem.

As for the inside, a Mediatek Dimensity 8500 Exreme is what we’re hearing, with LPDDR5x and UFS 4.1 to go with it. The back of the phone may well have a trio of 50MP cameras – the LYTIA710, the 3.5x periscope and an ultra-wide – and a 50MP for the front.

A 6,500mAh battery with 90W charging (and 15W wireless) is the word. At 190g it’s not heavy, and with the centred logo and boxy module, it has that familiar Motorola look.

Rivals and where it fits

Motorola is going after the likes of the Realme 16 Pro+. They know there is a demand for periscope zoom in the mid-range and they are ready to put up a fight for it.

Pricing outlook and what to watch

No official number for India has been put out. But if it’s anything like the rest of the Edge line, you can put it in the under 50,000 range. The value proposition will be in the final price.

The rest is simple. On 4th June we’ll have the full spec sheet and the cost. Do they hit the mark on the camera and the price, and the Edge 70 Pro+ will be the one to have for anyone who wants the zoom but doesn’t want to pay for a flagship.
