Munawar has made an unannounced appearance on the set of the new Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, and he didn’t do it without a bit of a twist. The Splitsvilla X6 pair of Akanksha and Yogesh are under the same roof once more, and they are all set for a face-off that will make for some good television. It’s on Netflix from June 27, 2026, Sat-Wed at 8 PM. It’s not just for old times’ sake. They left Splitsvilla with some loose ends, and now that is going to be put to the test in a jail that doesn’t let up. Add in hosts like Farah and Riteish, and Ekta Kapoor behind the scenes, and you have a show where the pressure is on from the get-go.
Munawar makes his move in the new jail
There’s a promo out where you see the Season 1 champ strolling into the overhauled prison with a quip about how neither he nor the place can be kept at arm’s length for long. He’s not here to be a number in the cell block, but to put you in the mood for a tougher, wiser kind of game. He’ll show you around the jailers room, the cells and the like before a neckband goes off and you are left with the sight of Yogesh and Akanksha on the other side of the bars, with no way out of what they have to work through.
Akanksha and Yogesh: what was left to say
There was a lot of talk when they were on Splitsvilla X6, and putting them in close quarters is a way to speed things up. You can bet on some hard truths and tempers flaring before anyone has time to form a camp. Yogesh is clear on it: “The raw and real Yogesh that people connected with is exactly what they are going to see inside Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa.” And from Akanksha: “I feel there are many things my fans still want answers to, and Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa will give me the space to finally share my side.”
How they will drive the numbers
When you have these kind of egos and a back story people are already following, you have something. Here, there are no wardrobe to be had, just uniforms. Your food comes on a belt, and with so few seats, where you sit is part of the plan. After a while, the day-to-day can be as much of a pain as any big scene.
A look at the new set
“A Lock Upp without Munawar is not possible,” he says. Omung Kumar has put together a set with 90-odd cameras to make sure it is both a proper jail and has a certain flair to it. Kumar wanted to avoid the garish and think of a double-height room with a balcony for the jailors, or a big fan that is as much a prop as a light. It has a grunge to it, but in a way that is not messy. That is the point. The beds don’t have much room for your legs, the meals are plain, and you will be vying for a chair. There is a backyard if you need to, but in a game of the mind, the confinement does the work for you.
Who is in and who is hosting
We have a wide array of people this time. Ram Kapoor, Shivangi Joshi and Dheeraj Dhoopar are there with Akanksha and Yogesh. Then you have Pamala Serena from Desi Bling, and others like Sunita Ahuja, Harshad Chopda and Sufi Motiwala in the running. With 14 in the house for six weeks, Farah and Riteish are on top of it, with Ekta Kapoor in charge of the vision. It is all about giving up the nice things for a little unease and being watched every step of the way. Here is the lowdown: – Premiere: June 27, 2026 – When: Sat-Wed 8 PM on Netflix – In front of the camera: Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh – Lenses: 90 and up
What you should be looking for
This is not just a matter of calling the inmates in. With a set-up meant to be a little on the uncomfortable side and a couple of surprises, the season is put together to keep you in the fold.
Judging by the first glimpse, Akanksha and Yogesh will have the early say. Everyone else is going to have to make their case for some airtime, and in this place, even a spot to put down your feet is worth a fight.
